"We stayed a week at this Villa. We found it rustic and charming. It was spacious inside and had everything we needed. The outside area is lovely, again spacious, with a beautiful view. The swimming pool was a massive hit and there was also adequate seating with shade for the 7 of us staying there. We could walk down to the nearest town in about 20 mins, where there were numerous lovely restaurants and shops all by the beach. It is up hill so we did tend to get a taxi back. The taxis we found to be very good and everyone we came across were really friendly and helpful. The bedrooms (apart from the master bedroom) are separated by curtains and are located around the villa. This wasn’t a problem for us as we were a close family. There is aircon in the main bedroom and an aircon unit which covers the rest of the villa. There were also fans located around if we needed them. We were brought fresh grapes and lemons by a lovely man who lived next door. All and all a lovely holiday. We would definitely return."

"Very nice, clean villa. Host was amazingly responsive, whether for recommendations or just small issues within the property.The outside dining area was lovely, with nice views on the mountains.The pool was nice but the design was strange with the end of the pool finishing after the overhang wall and you could bang your head on it while swimming.The kitchen was too small to cater for 10 people, with a half size dishwasher but we managed it!Barbecue area had no light.The rooms and the en-suites were lovely but the 2 rooms at the top had no bathroom so you had to go downstairs in the bathroom on the landing. But the ratio bathrooms/toilets to people was good.I would say you need a car but you can walk down the village although there’s no pavement and it’s very dark at night. However taxis are available and very reasonable.Miss Stella was lovely and had great recommendations for various restaurants, taxis etc, so were the conciergerie. They were very helpful."

"Wir als vierköpfige Familie hatten wundervolle 17 Nächte in dieser ganz tollen Unterkunft! Die Villa ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Außenanlage sowie der Pool sind sehr gepflegt. Der Pool wurde wöchentlich gereinigt und war daher super sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Besonders gut hat mir die wöchentliche Reinigung gefallen, das hat den Aufenthalt für mich persönlich perfekt gemacht! In der Küche gab es auch Spülmittel, Spülmaschinentaps, Handseife, Zucker, Kaffee, Öl, Tee, etc.. Auch im Bad gab es Handseife und Toilettenpapier. Wir hatten während unserem Aufenthalt einen Mietwagen, so konnten wir problemlos verschiedene Unternehmungen machen und auch ans Meer fahren. Die Kommunikation mit dem Eigentümer sowie mit dem Manager vor Ort waren perfekt. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!"

"Amazing location, couldn’t have been better.The architecture of the house and the outside space with the pools was stunning.The bathrooms, kitchen and some of the interior fittings could do with an update to reflect the beautiful building.Loved the pools and the view which more than made up for it.The local village offers wonderful restaurants with great ambiance and super tasty food. Gorgeous gift shop with artisan product rather than the more tourist products.A real community feel where everyone was really welcoming."
Villa Aspro - Top quality villa surrounded by nature, close to the beach

"The villa was every bit as advertised. A lovely, modern, well appointed and impeccably clean home with gorgeous views and decent privacy. We arrived to find a refrigerator stocked with more essentials than we expected.The rooms were good sized with comfortable beds and plenty of closet space. All kitchen appliances were in perfect working order and we lacked for nothing. One bathroom had an issue with hot water in the shower and that was resolved the next day. The villa is on a hillside with gorgeous Mountain View’s in the back and a bit of a view of the ocean in front. There is also a lovely outdoor seating/dining area with a small garden which was a fantastic area to relax.Contact with the host was easy and responsive. We never felt pressured and were given several suggestions for dining and sightseeing. Speaking of such things, Almyrida was a treat. The beaches were easily accessible and not particularly crowded. Dining options abounded and several of the restaurants were truly excellent.The villa and the village would be an excellent choice for families that value a bit of quiet time along with the hustle and bustle of vacation. Definitely a 10/10!One note: having a car for this location is very much advised. While the walk to Almyrida is only 1.5km the road is rather narrow and winding. The drive to Chania is roughly 40 min and Rethymno is roughly an hour."
Athina - Apokoron Villa with Large Private Pool and Great Views

"We loved our 6 day stay at Athina Apokoron. The open plan area was very clean and comfortable. The swimming pool worked well for the 7 year old children that were not strong swimmers. The steps down to the pool might not be easy to manage for those with toddlers/small children. The bedrooms were clean and spacious with decent storage for unpacking. The bathrooms were clean, plumbing and hot water all worked well. No shower curtains on the bigger bath tub made it difficult to shower without making the floor wet and slippery, still it was manageable. The kids loved taking baths with the jets going. We were in a perfect location, so close to the beautiful Almyrida Beach, which is where we spent most mornings. We did hire a car for the duration of our stay but it was not essential as Almyrida Taxi service was very good. So many delicious food, drinks and ice cream options between Gavalohori and Almyrida. Thanks again to Christos for being a wonderful host. We hope to be back soon!"
Villa Eftychia -2 Pools, Hydro-Massage & Playground

"We loved everything about our stay at Villa Eftychia! It was the perfect size for our family of five and equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were great, beds comfy and everything spotless. The garden area was wonderful and perfect for a BBQ or relaxing at the end of a day exploring (veranda with a view), and the children loved both of the pools and the swings. They also loved spending time with the resident cats! The location of the property is perfect...it's up in the hills away for some peace, privacy and nature. It's so quiet (apart from the resident chickens and turkey, but we enjoyed listening to them)! But it's also only a few minutes away from a lovely beach with some great restaurants, a bakery, and small grocery store. It's got a nice little strip, but it's not busy with tourists like some other places on the island. Pretty quiet area. There are also some lovely villages up in the hills to check out and a couple ruins (WW2, Byzantine etc), and it's a great base to explore Chania, the mountains/gorges to the south, and isn't far from Rethymno. It will help a lot if you're renting a car. The hosts (George and Roxani) are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. They gave us so many great recommendations and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. This place is a gem, you should book!"
