"least favorite stay of my trip in japan, stayed because location was good. but the bathroom smelled bad, the bathtub had grime on the corners, there was stickers and a pimple patch in the wall of the bed and candy wraps under it. the room was extremely small, the pictures made it seem slightly bigger. i booked a room on the remodeled floor, yet my room felt dated so i doubt it was remodeled. also booked it thinking the airport shuttle was included in the price, it’s not included and also time slots were limited. overall not great experience, wouldn’t stay again"

"Hotel is located across the street from Ueno park near the pond (south end). Convenient for park access but pretty far away from the subway and train lines. Meaning about a 7-10 minute walk and if it’s raining, it’s not the best experience to walk. Taxi to the hotel from the train station is about 800yen and about 5 minutes. The hotel runs along a street with a lot of bars and escorts lining nakacho-dori which can be overwhelming if you’re with young children. Public bath was nice with inside and outside sections to enjoy the view the park. Room size was decent if you’re in a suite. Bigger than other Japan hotels for sure. Good place but if I were to stay in Ueno again, I would stay closer to a train station stop. "

"Small, spotlessly clean and well designed rooms with very comfortable beds would be tight for more than one American. Free access to onsan bath a plus. Breakfast is mediocre and you need to reserve in advance. Elevators during peak periods are often crowded and slow. A good value but be prepared for elevators. "

"I've stayed here twice now and the value for price is amazing. Location is great. It's a two minute walk from Shiomi train station which can get you to Tokyo station in about 20 minutes. Disneyland is very close as well by train. The facilities are very clean and new. They have a Family Mart attached to the hotel, a restaurant, an Onsen, washer/dryers (which are expensive and don't work great but still convenient). There's also a Weller bus line that comes twice a day and can take you directly to Narita Airport. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Very nice location. Not a five star hotel but comfortable enough. We stayed her mostly for the convenience of being near the station, food, shops and the heart of shinjuku. Rooms could be updated but we didn’t spend a lot of time in the rooms. Bathrooms are nice and updated. Would stay again. "
