Perfect

Exactly what we wanted for a peaceful week in north Norfolk. Beautiful location with the magnificent church nearby. The cottage is lovely and well equipped including its large and very comfortable bed. It has a small but perfect, walled courtyard garden which is completely dog-safe and a wonderful sun trap. Would happily stay again and highly recommend.

Not like it says on the tin

Acceptable accommodation, by no means luxurious . No welcome pack as promised. Inadequate car parking. Little storage space for food. OK but nothing special overall

Wonderful Cottage

Had a fabulous stay here in winter. Lovely owner. The most comfy bed ever we agreed! Beware in winter it's pitch black outside and cottage is on a lane. So if you want to walk into the village bring a torch!

Middle Knoll short winter break.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this immaculate little cottage with it's well-thought out accommodation, comfortable bed and generous provision of towels, etc. We imagine parking could be a problem in summer, but Cley is indeed a wonderful spot for a winter break. NB. Were we asked for a suggestion it would be to provide a set of oven gloves for those who wish to cook and review information folder to ensure it's up-to-date.

Cosy cottage for a Winter break with dogs.

Delightful cottage, really warm with great showers. Certainly dog friendly in the cottage itself. The garden is a tiny courtyard which is walled so safe, but not really enough space for larger dogs. However, the lane is quiet and plenty of walks on the doorstep. We parked just up the lane as there wasn’t enough space on the narrow lane to park directly outside the cottage, this wasn’t a problem for us, Spotlessly clean and everything that we needed was there including a couple of dog towels for muddy paws! Only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village where there is a fabulous deli. We enjoyed the log burner in the evenings. We will certainly be returning.

Winter break in Cley

We live in Norfolk and know the north coast well. This cottage was ideally placed for beautiful walks and easy accessibility to Cley and surrounding villages. The short walk into Cley is attractive, the property is very well appointed and we will certainly return.

Perfect cottage stay with a dog

We stayed with one day for 4 nights and would stay at Middle Knoll again. The condition of the cottage was fantastic, with the enclosed garden being safe for our dog. Whilst it was a quiet location, there was a dog friendly pub within walking distance. Incredibly welcoming team with great food. There was an issue with the dishwasher but we knew before we arrived and the owner left a bottle of fizz as an apology. It didn't impact our holiday at all but nice to know that they cared. The owner had a very comprehensive book to help around the cottage and the area.

A perfect bolt hole

Middle Knoll is a lovely cottage tucked away behind the church on a peaceful lane in Cley-next-the-sea. It is a perfect place to stay when in need of a tranquil escape. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Simply perfect

An ideal cottage for a couple wanting peace and quiet, set in a beautiful location. When we had a small problem both our host and Norfolk Hideaways responded with speed and generosity, fixing things quickly, and carefully following up to know that all was well. We have already booked our return visit.

Lovely cottage

We stayed at Middle Knoll during COVID restrictions and were very happy with how clean it was. COVID arrangements were clearly explained and not intrusive. We felt very safe and comfortable. The cottage itself was well appointed and in a quiet location a short walk from the Three Swallows and a slightly longer walk from the George and Dragon. Otherwise it was a convenient location for North Norfolk sightseeing.

Second time we have stayed here and fulfilled all our expectations. Victoria was particularly helpful. A pleasant and peaceful location

A grand if chilly week,

Had a lovely week in Cley with slightly mixed weather but not enough to stop us getting out and about. The unseasonal coolness only made us appreciate the cosiness of the cottage more! All well appointed. The spiral staircase was not a problem. We enjoyed being able to have an afternoon cup of tea in the small but sheltered garden. We did however mention to the owner that if some of the overgrown shrubbery was cut back, a late sunny outdoor breakfast would be an appreciated option also. All in all......excellent!

Our seond stay and can't wait to book again

Our second stay and won't be our last. The cottage is an excellent standard and exceptionally clean. The location is also great on the edge of the village but only minutes away from some fabulous amenities including the deli, pub (Three Swallows) and the Smoke House).

Wonderful fortnight

This was our second stay at Middle Knoll. It is a delightful cottage on the edge of Cley. It is quiet and within easy walking distance of the middle of the village and the Three Swallows. The cottage is beautifully presented, clean, warm and cosy. The kitchen is fully equipped which makes self catering so easy. A great place to stay.

Lovely cottage

This is a well well quipped and comfortable cottage located in a quiet road behind the village church. The kitchen is modern and has all the equipment necessary for a comfortable stay. Our only criticism is the inability to park or stop for any time directly outside the cottage so unloading and loading the car involves walking a little way along the road. This is ok in good weather but inconvenient when raining or windy. Although Cley is a pretty village we found the two local pubs were very poor for dining. The George were unable to provide anything fried such as whitebait or even chips due to a ‘kitchen disaster ‘ and the Three Swallows was serving relatively overpriced microwaved meals. The nearest decent pub is The Dun Cow at Salthouse. However there’s an excellent cafe the Artemis in Cley as well as a great food shop/delicatessen.

Lovely Cottage

Lovely cottage. Very clean and well furnished. Cosy, comfortable hideaway for two + sofa bed. Wood burning stove for chilly evenings and large, comfy, sofa. Tiny, twisty cottage stair leads to big bedroom with Super king size bed and spacious bedroom with lovely view over churchyard and countryside. Huge bathroom with large shower and double ended bath. Kitchen is well fitted and has views into the pretty, enclosed patio garden. Great for dogs! Internally, the cottage floor has several changes of level with small steps. We enjoyed a very relaxing week in late August. Our dog came too and there were lots of lovely walks straight from the door via the quiet and peaceful lane. It was only a 10 minute walk into the shops and cafes of the pretty village of Cley and the marshes beyond. We would recommend this cottage.

What a lovely short break-just what eas needed to re charge the batteries

Returning for our second visit-we were not disappointed and found the cottage to be as perfect as we had remembered. We had a lovely short break, saw lots of the Norfolk coast and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed their holiday walking the coastal paths and free running on the beautiful beaches. Returning to the cottage for its homely comforts and being welcomed in the local pub for our evening meal-we were made to feel welcomed as though part of the family. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful village

A lovely place to stay with my dog. Cottage perfect. Quality furnishings. Private courtyard. Village lane location. Would recommend.

Not our cup of tea

The cottage was quite comfortable and well equipped. However the fire had not been cleaned out and having to reverse up the lane was a pain. The fire hadn’t been cleaned our prior to our visit and the rear garden was overgrown. I wouldn’t like to stay there again.

Really nice cottage, very well equipped (dishwasher powder etc). Unfortunately the WiFi barely works. Not sure if that could be fixed or not.

Our second stay in this good cottage. We love the bedroom and the views from it and the little garden is very sweet too. The standard of cleanliness is very high and the kitchen well equipped. It might be helpful to guests to have e.g. a pint of milk, some teabags etc there on arrival and I found myself stuck without a grain of salt in the house -never had to take that on holiday before! Slightly sad that we never had a Welcoming present on either of our visits - unlike other people! `it is clearly very popular, esp. for guests with dogs, and quite difficult to find a gap when one wants to go. It is also a bit pricey as it is only for 2 people But it is a lovely spot!

Lovely despite the weather

This was our second visit to Middle Knoll and it didn't disappoint. The weather was horrid all weekend and hampered our stay sadly. The only area for improvement would be some hooks to hang towels for practical reasons ... I think I raised this before, but still no hooks, not too sure why? Apart from that perfect.
