We stayed at home farm for a weekend break and were really pleased we did. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. Richard and his team are friendly attentive and strive to make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay... as for the Thai food, you really need to try it. It is amongst the best I have ever eaten.
We will definitely stay here again!
Very nice and personal welcome from Richard, the owner Richard.
Overall the stay was very pleasant. The food was good and the service was impeccable, felt right at home.
The only downside and a very minor complaint (personal preference), the menu was quite restrictive from an English dish perspective and could be looked at.
If you like Thai food, you need to try. Excellent.
I would definitely stay again and will be doing in the not so distant future.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Only ok and no evening food
It has no restuarant or bar meals and nearest pub/eatery is miles away. Rooms are clean and recently painted but otherwise tired. Plumbing is a bit suspect.

No receptionist.
Overbearing landlord eventually appeared and gave me an unwanted lecture on the “best way” to make reservations.
Had to wait over 30 mins. to check out because he’d “popped not town”.
Had a job rousing him at 5 am when fire alarms went off.It was a false alarm blamed on spiders...happens “all the time” he said!
Weekend away. right from check in late into the evening , Richard was very friendly and attentive, showing us around and to our room, which was lovely, and couldn’t do enough for us
I forgot to leave this review back in August. We stayed here for a wedding, and it was a gorgeous little hotel!
The owners are so lovely and genuine, the food was gorgeous, the rooms are clean and spacious and the view was amazing. I couldn’t recommended it enough!
The owner was so helpful. We arrived early and he helped us check in early. The breakfast was quick and hot. I would pre-book for an evening meal, as it was fully booked when we tried to book. 10/10, would stay again. Thank you again!
This was one of the most relaxing stays that we have had in a hotel in a long time. The food was amazing and the whole feel of the hotel was great.
Really enjoyed our stay.
Thanks to Richard for his wonderful hospitality. Super attentive and friendly.
Home Farm is very well presented inside a lovely old building, our room was really comfortable, facilities were good and breakfast was lovely.
We didn’t try the restaurant for dinner during our stay, but we did make the most of the bar!
Highly recommend a stay. Ideally located for a stop off if you’re heading down to Cornwall.
We had a great stay. Richard and Nat were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable . The food was fab. Recommend the chicken thai green curry and plenty of choice at breakfast. Would definitely stay again!!
Richard, our host, was superb. It was obvious how much hard work he and his wife, Nat, put into giving excellent service supported by their staff, Graham. The restaurant, in particular, their Thai dishes, were of a very high standard, freshly prepared and delicious, with very generous portions.

The owner was pretty uniqe ! Rather dated in some aspects .but good enough ,very short staffed ,but very helpful and obliging .
Stayed here for 2 nights in a business trip and it was perfect. Extremely clean, extremely friendly, amazing food and the Host Richard could not do enough for the guests. Great team highly recommend
On arrival the scenery surrounding this hotel was a real gem, luckily my large van had plenty of space as you drive up a step hill. On check in - I was greeted by 'Richard' the hotel manager who checked me to my room in fast manner and kindly helped me to grab a swift cold beer and arranged for my evening meal. The evening meal was a real gem, THAI food!... and amazing. I have not eaten much THAI food on the past and now I am hooked!! I may even visit Thailand:-) If in Devon again for work and close to Exeter, I will book again! and also try more of the THAI dishes. Recommend!
I booked for two nights and left after 1 but still had to pay
Room only had a bath which I didn’t notice so that was my fault
Bedroom large but not welcoming
Very old
Plastic sheets covering surfaces
Noise from room below
Bed uncomfortable
Felt uneasy with whole stay and didn’t sleep
Thai Meal expensive and only one dish was of a good standard
Very disappointed with the whole experience
This was fabulous good old fashioned hospitality by them being wonderful hosts and doing the simple things brilliantly. I didn’t expect the food to be anything special, as so often places now a days get away with average. But the food was stunning! Authentic Thai food in the evening and perfect English breakfast in the morning. We would definitely go back if in the area and would have no hesitation recommending to anyone. Well Done!
I have just returned from a trip with my 9 year old son. We both loved the hotel and in particular our lovely room. The food was amazing, my son is a fussy eater but there was no way I wasn’t trying the Thai evening meals and so glad that we did as it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My only suggestion of possible would be to have a couple of child options, we didn’t ask so it’s possible that they do have. Breakfast was perfection; was freshly cooked and a quick service.
Richard and his wife are lovely hosts. Richards honestly could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Richard is really helpful and ensured that we made the best of our time there.
Hoping to come back in the spring and enjoy more of Devon and Dorset as we only scratched the surface.
