"This was a lovely and modernized hotel with surprisingly spacious rooms. It is about a $16 dollar Uber/Taxi ride (in 2026) to downtown or about a 45 min walk to downtown. Near the park and the Szechini Baths (about 15 mins walk) and close to stores, train stations, and amenities. Staff are friendly and front desk staff speak solid English. Each room is air conditioned and has its own mini-fridge. The only minor complaint I would have is that the fridges do not get very cool but I am aware many rooms in hotel do not have fridges at all, so appreciate their trying. Elevators are spacious and reliable as well. I would certainly stay here again!"

"Had a great stay at H2 Hotel Budapest. It's conveniently located within attractions like St. Stephen's Basilica and Szechenyi Chain Bridge, as well as bus stops / trams and even the Parliament House is just a few minutes walk. Hotel is very clean and breakfast is provided for the guests. Love the cleanliness and interior of the rooms. Will definitely stay here again!"

"We could not have been happier with the Oktogon hotel. Perfect location. Close to the metro underground and the fabulous tram and bus system. We purchased the 3 day metro pass as soon as we arrived. We went every where using the public transportation system. It’s an absolutely lovely hotel."

"Rooms are small and have unnecessary things like a large mirror (to try and make the room look bigger) just remove it for more space. A large table that takes up most of the space in the room. Fridge doesn’t work in room. Staff are very rude and have bad attitude There is no information on how to call reception - I had to leave my room and go downstairs to ask the question I had. Receptionist was rude saying “I’ll just google it” that’s what I did too but I’m asking you as it gave me two different information. Slammed pen for me to write for myself on paper when I asked “can you write it down for me please?” Needed some ice as I hurt my leg. Reception told me I had to go downstairs to the bar and collect myself. The only hotel if you need something you need to go downstairs to collect (they don't bring things to your room - so bizzare). Bar staff SO RUDE! again, more rude staff. Are we surprised? I asked him if I could have some ice for my leg and he refused and gave me a tiny bit which was not helpful. He was giving me bad attitude and angry. Honestly all the staff here are so rude. I'd never stay here again. Zero stars"
