Enjoyed our stay at the Olive Branch, lovely sized room. The shower was difficult to turn and water temperature was poor although to be fair it was so hot outside we only wanted cold showers. The pub/ restaurant attached was very good quality & this was also where breakfast was served. We filled in a form the night before for breakfast which we like as an idea as it avoids waste but personally I believe this was a missed opportunity & a more detailed form would have been impressive. EG list the items available for the full English & offer a choice of eggs. The staff were all lovely and very helpful with suggestions for walks & visits.

A very pleasant stay
Staff were extremely nice and friendly. room was very pleasantly furnished and was clean although the bath sink drained very slowly as was blocked with hair. The room does not have double glazing overlooks a main road. The road was however very quiet at night and on Sunday morning during our stay. There is a very good menu choice for evening meal and food was very nice.

Stayed in the Serengeti room. Very comfortable. There is noise from the bar area below, but not excessively so. Food was great. Had both a meal at night and breakfast and both good. It's understandably popular so book ahead for a meal if required. Definitely recommend if in the area.

The stay was fantastic. It is years since we have been in the Olive Branch, and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The food was excellent, service amazing and the Serengeti room was tasteful and comfy. Very hospitable hosts and pleasant professional staff. We'll be back

A gem
A lovely Inn, with just 3 rooms. The room we had was nicely furnished and had a Kingsize bed. The Inn has a very good restaurant and is understandably busy as the food is excellent. Included in our room price was a choice of breakfast. Our full English was spot on, fresh and hot. Outside, the Inn has fantastic countryside views which can be enjoyed from the terrace and garden. A little gem.

Lovely out of the way place.
Lovely little country pub with rooms. We stayed in Serengeti room which was beautifully decorated. Lovely fluffy bath towels. We had lunch and dinner here which were both excellent. The full English breakfast was very good with quality produce. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

This is a lovely little pub with attached rooms, accessed through a side door. It looks like it was an old coaching inn and has easy access from the motorway. Lots of room for parking behind the building. The bar is warm and cozy. The food was excellent, both a Sunday roast dinner and the fresh cooked breakfast. The drive through West Yorkshire and the edges of the Peak District keeps you off the M62 and allows for a drive across the moors - stunning scenery, wild reservoirs and small villages tucked away in the valleys.

The meal downstairs was amazing and the staff there were wonderful I have nothing negative to say about that at all,however the room was a different story,me and my husband have stayed twice before in different rooms which were great,this time we were put in the Serengeti room,the bathroom was really disappointing,they have painted the walls with what looks like one coat of paint and haven’t finished the job so it looks scruffy,also there were thick cobwebs around the ceiling in the bathroom too,our bedside lamp did not have a bulb,we asked for one but didn’t get one,this was a special birthday treat for us and it was really disappointing,also our brekfast was brought to our room in the morning and the egg was burnt and hard,I would have thrown it in the bin and started again!!that should not have been served to a customer end of!

A Night in the Colne Valley.
Very pleasantly surprised by The Olive Branch which looks very ordinary from the outside and is a roadside inn on a fairly main road. The reception was very friendly and we were shown to our rooms in an adjacent building ~ what a pleasant surprise, good sized rooms, very comfortable and with large well equipped bathrooms. We had an excellent evening meal in warm friendly surroundings and charming service. The only downside was a certain amount of traffic noise but then I live in the depths of the country and it didn't worry my colleague from London at all !

Lovely Inn
Lovely Inn within walking distance to Marsden. Room was a good size and nicely furnished with all the amenities we needed. Staff friendly and helpful. Make sure you have dinner as the food and service was top notch, we were told it was good but it surparsed our expectations. Very nice cooked breakfast both mornings too, would recommend to anyone.
