"Lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. We had a good lunch at the bar. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was comfortable, too. What made this hotel so special and memorable for us, though, was the night manager, who we encountered when we checked out at 4 am. She was terrific and saved us a lot of time and anxiety about getting to the airport on time. We had a 6:15 am flight to catch. The first hotel shuttle did not leave until 4:30 am, and we did not know how quickly we could get to the airport's Terminal 2 with the shuttle or how long it would take us to get through security. We thought about calling a taxi, but the night manager told us that the wait could take up to 20-25 minutes because there aren't a lot of taxis running so early in the morning. We are somewhat older people and had never used Uber before, but we did manage to download the app on our cell phone the night before. Still, we were not confident about actually using the app while the clock was ticking. The manager took our phone and used the app to order Uber for us. Thanks to the help of this wonderful lady, we got to the airport in plenty of time to get through security and make our flight home. The next time we're in San Diego, we will definitely stay at the Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island again. "

"There are definitely some positives. The location is great, the rooms were very clean, and the pillows were surprisingly comfortable. The pool area was also well stocked with towels, which was a nice touch. However, the experience took a serious turn on our first night. Around 10 PM, the fire alarm went off and everyone evacuated. Shortly after, multiple police cars arrived and a helicopter was circling overhead. It quickly became clear this was not a simple fire alarm situation but something much more serious. I was outside on the sidewalk with my three children. One of whom didn’t even have time to put on pants.Terrified and confused is an understatement. We stood outside for quite a while with zero communication from hotel staff. No instructions, no reassurance, nothing. I had to repeatedly call the front desk myself just to get any information. When I finally got through, I was told we could return inside “at our own risk.” At that point, we had heard there was an armed robbery and suspects hadn’t been caught via the helicopter message. As a parent, that’s unacceptable. We had no idea if we were safe in the hotel or not, and staff made no effort to clarify or support guests during what was clearly a frightening situation. The next day, staff completely downplayed the incident, claiming it was just a fight between two women in the lobby—which frankly did not match what everyone witnessed the night before. That lack of honesty and transparency made the situation even worse"

"We stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Airport-Liberty Station from April 2 to April 7 with my 14-year-old child, and it was one of those rare cases where absolutely everything was perfect. The room was a spacious studio with a balcony and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean, cozy, and well maintained. The kitchen utensils were in great condition, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent — a buffet with a great variety of food and drinks. The location is fantastic, right by the water, with a beautiful walking area along the bay. There are also several restaurants nearby, as well as a Starbucks. The staff was very friendly and attentive, always ready to help. The airport shuttle service (both ways) was very convenient. Another big plus was the heated pool. However, what my son loved even more was the small basketball court — it became his favorite spot. This is truly a place where expectations were not only met but exceeded. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again."

"There is not enough parking spaces for the guests. Even if you pay for the $25 a night parking fee to park your vehicle, there might not be enough parking spaces. Extremely frustrating. The parking garage is very limited. Looks like residents also park in the area and never move their vehicles from all the dust collected on them from never moving. Also, the night we stayed, police were patrolling the area and announcing on the loud speaker that they were looking for 3 robbery suspects from a robbery that just occurred. "
