About this property

  • Nestled just moments from Hungerford’s historic high street, The Crib blends boutique hotel comfort with the charm of a private residence.
The Crib is a Grade II listed Thatched Cottage & a beautiful space, with everything you need.
With uniqueness oozing from its walls, it is as quirky as the town itself & is anything but ordinary!
    Expect:
    Handpicked antique and vintage décor
Soft, high-quality Egyptian linens & towels
    Goose down bedding
    Thoughtful lighting and cosy textures

    Sitting Room
Step through the front door into the welcoming and spacious sitting room — the heart of the home. A striking feature fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while carefully chosen antiques, vintage touches, and layered textures give the space its timeless charm. It’s the perfect place to curl up after a day exploring Hungerford’s famous antique shops and hidden treasures.

    Kitchen & Dining Area
Leading from the sitting room is the charming kitchen and dining space, blending country cottage warmth with modern convenience.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a beautiful Bertazzoni induction cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, and small fridge freezer. A water softener throughout the cottage ensures wonderfully soft water, indulgent baths, and endless bubbles.
The sink sits beneath a window overlooking the enclosed courtyard garden, bringing in soft natural light and views of the greenery outside.

    Upstairs
Quirky stairs from the kitchen lead to the first floor, where the master bedroom sits to the left and the bathroom to the right.
Please note: these stairs are very old and small.

    Bathroom
The bathroom is bright, calm, and full of character, featuring both a bath and a separate thermostatic shower. Frosted windows flood the room with natural light, while a heated towel rail and radiator keep everything warm and comforting. Solid wood floorboards add to the cottage’s timeless feel.

    Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is a beautifully proportioned room with period windows on either side, catching the morning light beautifully.
At its centre is a romantic four-poster bed — a true statement piece that perfectly complements the cottage’s antique charm. Built-in wardrobes, shelving, and a vintage-style dresser provide both character and practicality, while the softest carpet underfoot adds warmth and luxury to the space.

    Outside
Outside, the cottage garden offers a wonderfully peaceful and private retreat.
A front gate leads you along a charming footpath past a fern-filled garden and tranquil pond before opening into a larger paved courtyard designed for quiet mornings, evening drinks, and complete relaxation.
Enclosed by wooden panel fencing, the garden feels wonderfully secluded — a hidden little sanctuary in the middle of town.

    Guest Access

Guests have exclusive access to the entire cottage and gardens throughout their stay.
Everything beyond the front gate is yours to enjoy at leisure — from the charming fern-filled pathway and pond to the private enclosed courtyard garden.
