Hosts were very accommodating and the location was perfect to visit family and friends . A walk to the village shop while having the river so close were ideal. We hope to make it back soon.
Beautiful setting in a very peacegul location.
My 3rd stay here when working away.
Rooms large and beautifully furnished and very comfy beds.
Would highly recommend
Enjoyed our short stay. Asked if we could park earlier in the day and to our surprise, the room was ready much earlier in the day when we arrived, which was very much appreciated! Excellent location, very comfortable and also within easy reach of St Ives for restaurants etc. Thank you!
We stayed in the Holly room, which was spacious and nicely decorated. It had a view over a semi-enclosed courtyard, which is a shame considering the Lodge’s location.
Continental breakfast was good quality and brought in the room. It would have been good to have a table and additional chair (there were 2 of us) to eat it on.
Guests have got access to the garden, which is well maintained.
Excellent accommodation in a quiet location. The Lodge is situated in lovely private grounds with electronic gates in Hemingford Grey. We stayed in the Oak room and loved the size of the room and the lovely bathroom. The room was very stylish from the oak flooring to the furniture and the bathroom.
A good breakfast (cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, toast etc) was delivered on a tray to our room at a time to suit you.
Although check in is 4pm, I asked if check in could be earlier as we were attending an afternoon garden party in the area. Maria was very obliging and kindly messaged that morning advising that our room was ready and that we could check in at lunchtime.
All in all we had a great overnight stay and wished we were staying longer to appreciate more of this peaceful and pretty village. Definitely would stay there again.
Hotel was very clean. Rooms well appointed. Breakfast very disappointing. For the price paid a cooked breakfast and other choices were expected. Also. There were no facilities to eat at a proper table in the room.
Great location in the village. 1 small block away from fantastic pub with attached restaurant and outdoor seating with parking for both. One block from river. Another block added from the pub gets you to the convenience/grocery store. Another block along the river gets you to the manor house and gardens. Lovely room at the lodge, nice breakfast delivered in the mornings. Great staff, internet in the room. Parking lot within grounds. Local taxis available. Bolt available to the property from Cambridge. Nice hiking trail starts near river. Comfy beds and pillows. Many thanks to you, Mark - great host!!
The location is amazing, its so quiet. Walking from the car park to the room (which is less then a minute walk) all you could hear were the birds tweeting which was very relaxing. The room itself was nice and cosy, very clean and stocked with a kettle for tea and coffee which were supplied and a fan in the wardrobe, towels and toiletries. The shower is amazing and very spacious.
I had a bit of a problem with the bed, if you like a very very soft bed then you'll get a great nights sleep, for myself it was a bit to soft and I'm not sure why but it felt like the mattress was broken in the middle as i felt like i was being rolled into the middle of the bed all the time which made it uncomfortable. That didn't deter from the great time i had at The Lodge, it is an incredibly relaxing place and i would highly recommend staying here.
A really great stay in lovely accommodation. Everything was excellent from the cleanliness of the room to the quality of the breakfast. Overall I cannot fault the Lodge at Hemingford Grey and look forward to my next visit.
Everything was excellent for our mini break away exploring the beautiful area. Excellent communication with Maria on arrival and arranging a time for breakfast to be delivered to our door, the breakfast was a healthy delicious start to the day. Very clean and covid friendly too, bed very comfortable, thank you for a lovely stay.
The rooms were comfortably warm despite the cold weather. The breakfast was more than adequate. The decor was interesting if a little unusual. It was ideal for our overnight stop.
Lovely accommodation and a light and healthy breakfast. Very laid back approach by the proprietors which makes for a very relaxing stay. Highly recommended.
Beautful room in a beautiful setting with lovely hosts - the bed was a bit softer than we like and a hook for the alternative to the very high rainforest shower would have been useful, but everything else more than made up for that, and the village is stunning, with lovely riverside walks
A beautiful room in a lovely location. We were amazed how beautiful the village around the accommodation is - a lovely surprise! The bed was comfy and nice and big, and once we discovered the fan we were able to sleep better in the heat. The only disappointment was the lack of cooked breakfast due to Coronavirus, as we usually try and avoid eating carbs- but that couldn't be helped, and a good quality tray breakfast was provided, even though we didn't eat much off it.
Hopefully we will return if we are in the area again.
The Lodge is a hidden gem and was just perfect for a night away from london. It was set in the most stunning grounds and village and perfect for our long bike ride, lazy afternoon in the pub and great dinner in st ives along with a beautiful walk along the river. We would highly recommend and have actually decided to look at property close by!
