NOT FENCED - 16 foot tether • 8 guests max. 3 bdrm- all private with queen beds + bonus room “Lava Lounge” • 2 bth (tub/shower in one, shower in other) • fire pit • in town center yet very private• a very homey - home away from home family get away beautifully landscaped 1/2 acre with apple & pear trees, a small seasonal creek, walking paths and bridges

Emma and I are long time locals, are trained in interior design and high end hospitality, we have been hosting wonderful guests like you for years.

Each home has a different charm and experience. If one is booked for the dates you are interested in then try checking another.

ALL OF OUR HOMES:
• Our homes have been fully designed and renovated or partially renovated
• All are very loved and not a typical vacation rental (read the reviews!).

DOG INFORMATION (if you are bringing any):
We don’t have a weight limit but trust that your dogs are well behaved and will be wonderful guests in our beautiful homes :-) $25 per dog per stay for extra cleaning.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:
• Fenced yard or enclosed deck (some properties) • 16 foot tether in the yards (if not fenced) • dog bowls • dog treats • dog waste bags • pet wipes (to wipe down pups after outside walks/play - DO NOT FLUSH) .
• PET FEES: $25 per dog flat fee per stay. That goes to our cleaning crew for the extra time cleaning. Instructions to pay are on the check out sheet at the house.

Cozy, dog friendly & close to town!

I highly recommend the Cedar St. Retreat for a guest and dog friendly vacation! Located super close to town, this darling cabin has everything you'll need to enjoy your get-away in Idyllwild.

Lovely Home Great Location

The house was lovely with great access to the town and restaurants. The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had and provided a great experience. The house has something for everyone, especially a fun hideaway loft for the kids.

Perfect location and beautiful property

Loved everything about this spot. Easy walking access to everything downtown, and the surrounding gardens make you feel like you’re farther away from it all. The fresh apples off the tree and the lava room are a nice bonus.

Fabulous Property!

Would come back to this property over and over! Location is perfect with a short walk to get into town for restaurants, shops and small town feel. The hosts were so communicative in every way.... we travel with 2 Golden Retrievers and they made their stay so comfortable as well! Large yard to play in and welcoming treats, dog bowls, paw wipes too! Kitchen is very well stocked with just about everything you could use or want! Can't say enough about this perfect place to stay!!!

Mountain private retreat

Perfect location within a short walking distance to town. Property is clean and well stocked with everything you may need. Fluffy tailed squirrels put on a show all day long right out your windows.

Charming House

A charming house with all the amenities which made our family's stay fun and comfortable. The lava room was our grandsons' favorite. The location was within walking distance to the village. Wonderful Getaway

The Cedar Street house is great... perfect location, walkable to everything, beautiful surrounds and views and even with the very close proximity to the village feels tucked away in its own little pocket of forest. The house was immaculate and very well appointed with supplies for our family of five and furball companion. Would definitely stay again.

Great Location!

All went well on our stay. Property is in great location, close to town and hiking trails(drivable). Home is older, feels rustic but everything worked. We used the wood burning fireplace every day and it was a godsend on the cool nights and mornings! Great communication with host Melissa, very quick with any inquiries.

Ease and Comfort

Perfect location - in town, but off the path, so quiet and woodsy but walkable to everything. The cleanest cabin I have ever stayed in, it was immaculate. Everything is labeled and all questions answered by binder and signs in the cabin. Very comfortable and inviting space. Dog and family friendly.

A Snowy Stay

We are repeat guests, and just love the well appointed cabin, peppery and the proximity to town! We got lucky enough to experience a few inches of snow to the delight of my kiddo. A warm fireplace, plenty of exploring to do, and a quick walk to the shops made for a relaxing few days and family memories. The cabin is spotless, we love the layout and lots of thoughtful extras! Thank you for another phenomenal stay. We can’t wait to visit again!

Location and comfortable

This property is wonderful! I’ve been going to Idyllwild for years and have stayed many places. The location of this home is perfect and the grounds are interesting and fun!! Three bridges over a seasonal creek. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were nice. The couches and fireplace combo were perfect for us. Being about to bring the dogs was convenient and the house was very clean and didn’t smell like any pets or anything. We lived it all!! The kids especially loved the lava lounge and extra games.

Very close to town

My daughter wanted to spend her 13th bday in a cabin that was within walking distance of town. Boy did this fit the bill! Very confidante home and the 13 year old girls loved the lift area. In the warmer weather, i can imagine the yard is so amazing and inviting for adventure but we're a bunch of babies so it was too cold for us to spend much time out. I would urge anyone wanting to stay at a place to check out the town to stay here!

WOW!

We LOVED our little family getaway! Cabin is just as described, the small creek was running, saw huge squirrels and bluejays in the yard! Here during some rain so our planned hike had to be cancelled but walked the town and neighborhood instead which worked out great! Came across a nice big running creek with the dogs! And we woke up to some snow on the ground in the mornings that was absolutely beautiful! Wish we stayed a little longer!

Perfect Home For Perfect Stay!

We love Idyllwild and decided to do a long weekend with another family. The 8 of us included adults, teens, and tweens. There was enough space for us to sleep, relax and play board games, and enjoy cooking meals. The bonus was how close it was to everything. We never used our car unless it was to leave town to find snow. The property is super clean and had everything we needed. We also loved the super cute outside with a porch to sit with everyone and even a bridge over a little creek for the kids to walk and explore. We'll definitely be back!

Wonder Mountain Retreat

Our stay in your home was wonderful. We came up for the weekend from San Diego, the kiddos loved the yard, it was perfect for exploring. Also the Lava room was a hit. As a family with small kiddos we loved the location and not having to drive into town, the short walk to town was just what we were looking for. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed all the animals we saw in the yard. Squirrels climbing trees, woodpeckers, the tiny chipmunks scurrying across the porch and some frogs. Thank you for being such a wonderful host! We will be sure to recommend your home to family and friends who come to visit Idllywild.

Magical Home

We had a wonderful weekend on Cedar Street. The home was so warm and cozy! We appreciated the artistically placed touches throughout the home. The living room was much bigger than it appeared in the photos. We had lots of family time playing games around the beautiful fireplace. We appreciates being able to walk to restaurants, shops and grocery stores from the home. We were unable to enjoy the outside due to the rain. We will be back again to spend some time in the awesome backyard. Melissa was very responsive and helpful. Her kindness regarding our dog’s stay was valued by all of us!

Idyllwild writers retreat, perfect place for comfortable, clean, pleasant lodging close to town

Cheerful, clean welcoming place on quiet street about 1 minute walk to town (visit the ice cream shop!) 3 minute walk to our writers retreat lodge. So convenient for us! Managers were friendly, easy to get hold of, quickly responded to questions. Layout is private master bedroom with bathroom, two bedrooms on other side of LR with shared bathroom. Kitchen nicely stocked, not just with all the cookware, cutlery, mugs, gadgets etc etc. you’d need, but also with nice array of basic spices, and life-saving …. coffee. Bathroom towels are of a high standard and bedding wonderfully comfortable. Cons: Lots of windows but dim at night, common to the area (efficiency bulbs). Bring your own shampoo. Bottom line: I’ve stayed in other places in the area and would definitely come back to this one. :-)

Excellent location

I was originally hesitant to stay “in town” because I was concerned it wouldn’t provide the full “mountain cabin” experience but this was really the best of both worlds. We were within walking distance of everything but as soon as you stepped onto the property it felt like you were miles away. The property was perfect for our (adult) children their dogs and our 2 year old grandson. We were able to give him a “wilderness experience” without leaving the property. The place is well kept but not immaculate, which is perfect with dogs and young children. Ours are all well behaved but it’s still nice to be able to let them have fun without worrying about them damaging a bunch of fragile decorations. There is a small part of me that wants to give this property a bad review just so it is more likely to be available the next time we want to visit Idyllwild.

We had a great 10 days. Most of the time it was just my wife and I but our daughter and husband joined us for a couple of days. We loved the property with plenty of squirrels, jays and chipmunks. The description is spot-on and everything was as expected. Location is ideal for access to the town and restaurants. Kitchen was well-stocked if one wanted to eat in. We look forward to our next visit!
