"We had a great extended family trip at SML! The house was large and spacious with tons of bedrooms and bathrooms. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The pool is great and so is the firepit. The outdoor porches are great for coffee, dinner and outdoors movie nights. Overall would recommend and would come back!One note for future guests: the lake is currently at extremely low levels and makes the dock not usable for boats. After speaking with the host, we were able to figure out how to tie our rented boat up to a tree below the dock, and it worked ok, but required someone to push us out of the very low water every time and some careful maneuvering by the driver. Certainly wouldn’t blame the host for the lake levels but a heads up would have been appreciated so we knew what to expect. The host was very responsive with tips on managing the situation."

"We stayed at this beautiful home in mid-August. Perfect for families with teens. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Lots is common space. Great lay out, and we could bring our dog, which we loved. There are two bedrooms in the basement with game room, AND there is a door at the bottom of the stairs to block out noise from all the fun. The kitchen was stocked; beds were comfortable; couches were cozy. We have rented about 25 homes over the years, and this is one of the best. It is important for future guests to do their research on lake levels prior to renting this house, however. This was our first time at SML, and we didn’t know that the lake ebbs and flows, and the lake was at a 10 year low during our stay. There was NO WATER around our dock. Of course, there is an *asterisk* saying as much at the bottom of the listing, but you have to get past all the pictures and a list of all the fun things to do on the water like canoe and kayak. Our boys dragged a canoe two houses down and used a neighbor’s dock to put in, passing 7 no trespassing signs in their way (we clearly weren’t the first guests to have this problem), and they complained. All this to say, it is a great house, and we still had fun! If you don’t mind looking at a marsh instead of water —there were lots of deer— and you don’t mind driving and paying for lake access — we found a fishing guide to take us out on his boat —this house is for you and your family!"

"We enjoyed our stay very much! Beautiful property, definitely a big hike up the hill, but that was expected. And the steps/railings were helpful. The kitchen was stocked well, but lacked larger size pots/pans. We enjoyed the lake access from the pier, despite being there during the time when water levels were historically low across the lake. Plenty of water at this property! Laura was very responsive any time we had a question!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this property. It’s more towards the north part of the lake but there is still plenty of room to boat and jet ski. And it’s less busy at that part of the lake even though the best sights are at the south part. The views are still great, the rooms were clean and comfortable beds. The house has great amenities and everything you need. The Food Lion is less than 15 minutes away. The house is an older home with updated finishes. The hot tub is one of the best I’ve ever been in. But the real winner is the dock and view. The kids loved playing in the water at the dock. Even though the water level is low at the lake it is still plenty deep. If there was any negative it was the house had a bit of an old home smell when we arrived. But once we got the air circulating and bought some candles it was fine. Again, it is a very good house to vacation and relax."

"We enjoyed our stay overall. The house in general was nice, but a few things needed a little TLC, pool table felt with rough shape, cues or rough shape. The grill was not a Weber as advertised and needed parts replaced on it. Ping-pong paddles need to be replaced. And unfortunately, the water levels were so low that it was very difficult to use the floating dock for the boat we rented. I know this is not the owner's fault, but just thought it would be worth mentioning for future visitors this summer. The location of the cove was nice and quiet. Great spot for fishing. communication was great with the Host just like I said needed a few updates."
