"The room was great, breakfast was as expected, everything was clean and well stocked. Check-in took awhile. The front-desk lady seemed a little frazzled and appeared to to be struggling with the computer system, but eventually we got our keycards. Holiday Inn Express is our favorite one-night hotel to stay at when we are on road trips due to consistent experience and good value."

"I really wanted to like this boutique hotel—the decor was stylish, the room had a great vibe, and the location was convenient. On the surface, it checks a lot of boxes. However, the “contactless reception” model ended up being a major drawback. There was effectively no staff available at any point during our stay. While a contact number was provided, it took two full days—after we had already checked out—to receive a response. That’s not just inconvenient; it makes it impossible to resolve even basic issues in real time. And there were issues. There was no drinking water available, which feels like a very basic amenity. More significantly, there was an ant infestation. Ants were crawling on us while sitting on the furniture and even in bed. Any time we set a drink down, they immediately swarmed it—my coffee was ruined more than once. We had also brought back cookies from a wedding, and the ants got into them before we could even seal them properly. The overall experience felt very much like “you’re on your own.” If you need anything beyond a visually appealing room—whether it’s assistance, cleanliness, or basic hospitality—you may be better off glamping. In short: nice aesthetics and location, but the lack of support and cleanliness issues made the stay frustrating and not worth it."
