Upside: Spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Internet worked fine. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants. Free parking.
Downside: No water to shower last day, not even to flush toilet! Bed was quite hard, so quite uncomfortable

I have been staying at Courtyard Hotels in South Africa for many years and have been a loyal customer since 2014.
However, this time around I found that the standards have gone down. The rooms need upgrade as they are dated, many things do not function properly or are damaged.
The TV offers very limited options and I did have some time as I was at the hotel on the weekend.
Unless a substantial upgrade is not done, I will not be staying with Courtyard hotels in the future

You are correct in saying that the hotel has not had a refurbishment but the rooms are still well appointed and of an exceptionally high standard. We are sad to hear you say you will not stay with us again but as mentioned when we chatted at the Hotel the staff have gone out of there way to see to your requests and we do pride ourselves in the quality of service offered.We do hope to see you again and thank you for your patronage over the years.
The staff are the best! They are super friendly and helpful. My only gripe was the old small television screen, which is difficult to view.

I am used to better standard from Courtyard in my earlier stays.
Have given them good rating as they too are just coming off Covid closure and challenges thereof.
Breakfast menu also is curtailed.
Would like a better health club / gym and a restaurant with wider array of choices.

Thank you for your comments. Thank you for understanding ur return to business from Covid-19. As this is never an excuse we do however set out breakfast to match the occupancy at the Hotel. We will never take away from standards but have lowered quantities on the buffet. Our dinner menu is being looked at for review and we should be launching new menus in July of this year.

We had a very pleasant family stay at the Courtyard Hotel.
Value for money. Very reasonably priced.
Very comfortable and super clean rooms with all the basic necessities.
Friendly staff. Garden’s beautifully maintained.
We will definitely be back.

Brilliant 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite for my family Holiday. So much more comfortable than a hotel room. Excellent staff serviced the unit. Sanitising was to standard.

Clean, convenient, helpful, courteous, nice staff.
Neds maintenance the dining chairs were falling apart and needs railings in the bath/shower and. Permanent glass so water doesn’t sluice on the toilet as the glass flap was not staying closed.

Excellent. The other good thing is that the hotel is within walking distance of shopping centres, banks and restaurants. So i was able to walk and cut on many shuttle costs.

Positive, right in the middle of Sandton with access to all services/mall/companies. Negative, the rooms are separate on their own far from the receptionist.

We booked online and we assumed breakfast was included. This was not the case. Upon checking in we were told to pay an extra 10usd for breakfast. However after a few heavy discussions we agreed we would be allowed one breakfast for our 4 day trip. We were also told that there is a bar / lounge area. This was not the case. We had to order our drinks and get our own ice from the ice machine. I found that service was poor with the front staff and had to keep speaking to higher management to resolve issues. Staff at the hotel were friendly but cleaning staff kept bursting into the room without proper knocking.... Assume it shouldn't be 3 times....once I was fast asleep and was woken up as we had a very early start. This was at 5pm. I would like to stay there again, location is good but finding value for money is lacking.

Bookings from Expedia do not include breakfast and therefore it is settled at the hotel however after speaking to you I believe we came to an understanding and complimentary breakfast was offered for your entire stay. The bar and club lounge are upstairs and I believe that you were able join us. I have also addressed the matter with housekeeping as to the procedure when attending to the guest room. Everyday from 5pm until 8pm we offer a turndown service whereby the housekeeping lady will come to refresh your room for the evening. If you would not like to receive the turndown service kindly place the Do not Disturb sign outside your room. The matter was resolved immediately.
