"While the property is nice and the location is as good as advertised, the stay was very subpar, highlighted by two glaring problems:
1) Absolutely no staff on Sunday for our arrival. No front desk staff to check in, no guest services for questions - nobody.
2) No air conditioning made the spacious room uninhabitable, and sleep was incredibly hard to come by during the terrible heatwave that the region was experiencing when we were there."

"We arrived on Ascencion day from the little yellow train to no bus or taxi from Villefranc to the hotel - locals gathered together at the station to take us to the hotel in a private car - refused to accept any payment. Next day we needed to do washing, again let down by taxi's to get to laundry (at the local supermarket and a local again gave us a lift but let down again by taxi's to return (not far enough). The dryer did not work so back to hotel with damp washing. Immediately hotel stepped...
"Wonderful location for exploring the local countryside. Biking and hiking seem to have become immensely popular in recent years. A car for me would have been helpful but I needed a rest and the peaceful scented garden was truly heavenly. Lovely old furniture, healthy breakfasts, near the railway station. Warm welcome and kind hosts. A gem."
"The room was clean and comfortable. Thefood and service was excellent. The owner drove us to the bus stop so that we could continue our journey to Perpignan. Very good value. We recommend "
