"Under renovation, this property still needs a good amount of work. No hotel laundry room for guests. I paid extra for a "premium" room with washer/dryer and full kitchen. Rooms on the 100 level are motel style, not connected to the lobby and gym. Rooms had nice view of the water, but we were also next to a construction dumpster. Washer and dryer are small, and dryer takes forever to work. So don't expect to get a whole lot of laundry accomplished. Full kitchen with fridge, microwave, and stove. Had plates, cups, and pans, but I had to ask for silverware. No cooking utensils at all. Room also noisy, as it's next to Glacier Highway. No breakfast, just green tea and a bit of coffee and creamer. There used to be a hotel restaurant, but it's also under renovation. I found chunks of plaster in the room and in their hotel gym. Could have done a better job cleaning. This hotel had so much potential and great reviews online. I wanted to like it, but it was definitely overpriced for what I received."
"This charming, converted Victorian was the perfect place to spend our first night in Alaska. The entire hotel was immaculate, the decor was sort of shabby chic - in a good way, and the staff were wonderful. The free shuttle service from the hotel and to our cruise line was a very nice bonus. We were walking distance to a homey cafe, the Valley Restaurant. The made to order breakfast at the hotel, which was included in the price of the room, was delicious. Our room was large, well appointed, with a very comfortable bed and a nice tub/ shower set up. The shower was great. We didn’t use the large jacuzzi tub. All in all, a peaceful, quiet, and comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again."
"Great property, one bedroom, full kitchen and a lot of condiments for you to use, lounge good size with pullout couch and another single pullout, parking in front,"
"The staff was great. We arrived late at night at the airport and our hotel pickup was great. Just called the hotel and they came and got us. The hotel is dated but clean and neat. Lobby staff was helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was initially a disappointment because we were expecting more but the coffee was good and there were lots of energy bars, yogurt, and instant oatmeal packs so… no excuse to be hungry.
The location is very close to the the city bus line which was easy to use… only one route so you can’t get lost. Also several stores very close by to pick up a cold beer and groceries or even takeout food."
