"Perfection. The cabin on Spanish Creek was a true treasure. Just off the highway, sitting above the creek in the sugar pines. The design of home allowed for creek sounds and views 24/7. Nature provided privacy from the two neighbors who were far away enough to feel the entire creek and Plumas forest was ours. Just a few minutes of sitting silent by the water gave us views of ducks, otters, osprey and many other special wildlife species. A little walk down the road lead to the Pacific Crest Trail and hiking trails galore. The house itself was comfortable, clean, modern, allowing for everything we could need. Our beds were so comfortable. A covered porch overlooking creek for grilled dinner. Porch chairs for morning coffee. Cards, games and great books about the area. The worst part about the rental was the feeling of sadness for having to leave. "

"This is an amazing ranch property owned by a multigenerational family who stayed to fight the recent wildfire and saved the area around the ranch. This is as close as you can get to the Yellowstone (series) experience in Northern California.This vrbo is a basement studio under a ranch family member's residence, so expect some noise from above. He is very friendly and has a chill dog. The bed is one of the best we've slept in! The hot spring (basic metal tub setup with a deck and chairs) is on the ranch property nearby. You can only find it using the instructions inside the room as it's located on the ranch area across the main road and behind 2 cattle fences and across a tiny wood bridge. 4 wheel drive vehicle is advised but we made it without bottoming out in our Tesla Model 3 to both the dock location (free kayaking) and the hot spring during the dry summer, but would not try it if mud is possible. You will likely be alone at either location unless another guest or family member shows up.A 120v outlet is near the parking area so we were able to trickle charge the EV and made it back to the Sacramento area with no problem and also drove to Lassen Volcanic Park Bumpass Hell trailhead whole there. Fully charge in Truckee on the way here for best range."

"Absolutely lovely views! A Linkin Log Cabin vacation dream come true (GenX kid here). Awesome pieces of local history throughout the cabin. Lovely & thoughtful home touches. Great outdoor spaces. Access to lake with water gear takes some creative maneuvering as entire property is on a steep hill down to lake. Lake access is tricky but doable via home made rickety stairs or a tree root slope. Cabin is NOT easily accessible if you’re less mobile. We swam, kayaked, & paddle boarded with our own gear. Amenities make it feel like home. Be patient with WiFi, it works… or just unplug!!!! Amazing views, great wildlife, friendly locals. Beautiful bats, cute chipmunks, Stellar’s Jays, and even a wild rabbit! We would love to come back to Grimm Cabin! Thank you."

"This was our second stay, so I guess we must like it. Seems like they improved the shower since last time, so that was nice. TV was a little difficult to get up and running but we eventually managed. Only other (very minor) thing would be to flip the hinges on the refrigerator door so it opens on the other side. Everything else was just fine!"
