Old, but the service was great!

We stayed in the apartments, not the hotel proper. It was old and dated, beat up. The hotel was nicer, but needs a facelift. Service and food were excellent though!

Restaurants on site are wonderful and varied. Pub was beautiful and affordable vs the other restaurants which were nice but pricey. Apartments are large and have plenty of room for a family.

Wonderful apartment in a beautiful location! The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The spa was incredible. Food was wonderful at the hotel. We had a great time exploring the Muckross estate with the hotel bikes.

On the outskirts of town. Walkable to Killarney national Park. Able to rent bikes down the road and ride for miles around the park. Location is wonderful if you like a more quiet, relaxed atmosphere.

We enjoyed the apartments attached to the property. The room is spacious, kitchen well appointed, and clean. Parking was easy and rooms were quiet. We slept well every night. The only negative would be the lighting in the bathroom to shave or put make up on. The resort itself is in a great location just a couple minutes outside of town. The resort staff is wonderful. The spa team was great as well. Yew Tree restaurant breakfast was good but not as exceptional as our lunch in Monk's bar. We all enjoyed our lunch and returned for drinks multiple times to Monk's.

We stayed in the apartments at Muckross. We were only there one night, but I think these would be great for families staying a few nights in the area. They were clean and nicely decorated with a number of amenities. Nice living area and kitchen. One note though....there are 3 floors and NO elevators which I don't remember reading in the fine print. They really need to state this more clearly as I imagine some people would have a problem with this. We weren't very thrilled that we had to haul our luggage to the 3rd floor.

This property was perfect! We were a group of 5, so we utilized the apart hotel. It was spacious and clean, allowed us to have communal space and private sleeping. Dining at the restaurant was fantastic. Jason was our server and he was amazing. Food was great, only a short 10 min walk to the Muckross Abbey and a breath taking lake. Hotel views bolstered mountains in the morning. Wonderful staff, we did not have time to utilize the spa but it looked beautiful.

The hotel itself is very nice. I do not recommend the self catering apartments as they are very rundown. I brought this to their attention, which they addressed satisfactorily. The restaurant, bar, and hotel staff were some of the kindest individuals I’ve could ever meet!
