This quirky 1930s carriage has been beautifully restored and converted into a cosy holiday home in the village of Snettisham. Sleeping four guests, the period property is ideal for a small family or couples planning to explore the lovely coast and countryside of unspoiled North Norfolk. The extensive beach is within a 400-metre stroll and Snettisham offers a good range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Wildlife lovers will find one of the UK’s most important bird estuaries just a mile away, at the RSPB Snettisham site, while keen walkers can join the long-distance Peddars Way (5.5 miles) or the scenic Norfolk Coast Path. A familiar summer fragrance scents the air at the famous Norfolk Lavender Farm in Heacham, with more glorious gardens to enjoy at the Royal Sandringham Estate (both within 6 miles). For a splendid beach day, head to the seaside resort of Hunstanton (4.5 miles) with its golden sands, fun fair and amazing Sea Life Centre.


Enter this delightful period retreat via the conservatory, where seating offers pretty garden views. Inside, the open-plan living space combines a well-appointed kitchen with a dining area and lounge, offering a charming base to start and end each day in. Gather in the lounge after days of outdoor adventure; sink into the comfortable seating and flick on the Smart TV for some evening entertainment. When stomachs rumble, find everything you need to cook up a Norfolk feast, which can be enjoyed at the built-in dining table or alfresco-style on the wrap-around patio outside. At the end of each busy day away, retire to a choice of two restful bedrooms – a small double room and a bunk bedroom – and kickstart the next morning with a soak in the family shower room. Please note that as this a railway carriage the master bedroom is accessed through the bunk room and shower room.




Outside, you’ll find a spacious, enclosed lawn and surrounding patio garden with outdoor furniture. You also have a small, private decked space overlooking a beautiful sailing lake opposite the property – a lovely spot to sit with a drink and watch the bird life that is such a feature of this stretch of coastline. There is private parking for two cars.
