Beautiful home in an amazing location. Well equipped and cosy house with super comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and plenty of entertaining space. The terrace is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the wonderful views, the children loved roaming in the back garden picking blackberries and crabbing in the creek. A truly relaxing stay, we loved it.

Beautiful Devon country cottage five minutes from Kingsbridge
Spent a gorgeous week at this spacious cottage with family in June. The property is in great decorative order, the bedrooms are cosy and quiet, and the terrace to the front is a wonderful evening suntrap to unwind on a summers evening. Beaches, towns and amenities all within a short drive.

Wonderful stay!
We had the most wonderful week at the cottage. Beautiful peaceful setting but so close to Salcombe. The children loved crabbing off the boat in the mornings and after dinner, we loved sitting outside drinking gin and tonics! Everything was perfect and utterly charming, so excited to stay again in the Summer.

Amazing creek side family cottage, close to local amenities and very well appointed for a family holiday with small children. The owners were incredibly helpful and easily contactable, adding personal recommendations for the local area. Our older children loved crab fishing off the bridge and jetty.

Peaceful haven by the creek
We had a lovely stay at the cottage, Rob and Sian provided everything we needed and were so helpful with information. We took the boat out every day which the kids loved. We also caught lots of crabs from the creek bridge which was lots of fun. The surrounding area has so much to offer and we were spoilt for choice with beaches. We hope to return one day and would really recommend this cottage/location. Thank you!

Lovely cottage inside and the out
We could not have been luckier with our week at Pipers Cottage - we had a week of sunshine and shimmering heat, so that all the outside spaces became an extension of the house. We moved from jetty, to terrace, to back garden for our evening aperitif, with occasional respite in the sitting room to escape the heat. The aesthetic of the inside and outside spaces was really lovely and in keeping with the setting - pared back and natural but extremely comfortable. We loved using the boat during high tide, but were equally happy sitting on the jetty watching the bird life and revelling in the peace. We didn’t travel around much, it was too hot to walk far, but absolutely loved swimming at South Milton Sands and then retreating to the Beach House for delicious seafood lunches overlooking the Mediterranean blue of the sea. Rob was delightful to deal with - helpful and considerate and friendly, We’d love to return some time.

Creekside Cottage - Beautiful location and lovely area to explore
This charming cottage is positioned at the end of Collapit Creek, the small road passing by ensures low levels of traffic enabling you to un-wind whilst sitting out on the patio overlooking the creek and wildlife therein. Accessing the property was very easy and the host checked in on us to ensure we were enjoying our stay and make sure we were not having any issues. The house is well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. The property can only be accessed by steps, we had one of our elderly parents with us who had no problem, but be aware that anyone requiring special access, this is probably not the holiday cottage for you.

A wonderful holiday
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pipers Cottage. The location is superb with very easy access to Kingsbridge, Salcombe and many other fantastic beaches/towns/restaurants in the area. It’s positioned away from the hustle and bustle of a town, but with easy access to good amenities in Kingsbridge. The setting of the cottage is simply picturesque with views across to the creek and surrounding farmland. We loved using our paddle boards in the creek which really is a stones throw from the house. We saw many birds and fish, none of which I can name but great to see. We also sat on the small jetty with a glass of wine… highly recommended! I imagine this would make a wonderful holiday for a family with kids as they can splash around in the sheltered creek and see the wildlife. The house itself is very well appointed. Again, I imagine it would be good for a family with kids given the two bathrooms, playroom and decent sized bedrooms. For just myself and my wife, we had ample space. We cooked in the kitchen most evenings which all worked very well. The lounge was comfortable for my wife and I but perhaps seating a little limited if there were kids. It’s also worth mentioning that the home owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. For example, he provided excellent restaurant recommendations over the phone plus tips around tide times in the area. If you were to push me to find fault, in an ideal world there are a few things around the property that could do with a bit of updating, primarily the upstairs bathroom which looks a little tired. The back garden was also quite overgrown and it would’ve been nice to have used this. However, having said this we enjoyed our stay so much we’ve already enquired about booking to stay again! I’m conclusion, this is a wonderful place for a holiday, setup very well for a family or couple and in a stunning part of the world. I highly recommend.

A wonderful cottage in an idyllic spot on the creek
We’ve enjoyed an amazing relaxing week at Pipers Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and has a lovely sunny but private terrace which over looks the creek. We also enjoyed sunny evenings on the hill in the back garden. The weather was amazing, and we were lucky with the tide times and were able to take our canoe and Roly the rowing boat out on the creek most days. It’s such a peaceful and tranquil place we felt very lucky. Kingsbridge is a short drive away and has a couple of big supermarkets (Tesco and Morrison’s) so it is well served. Rob was a fantastic host and very communicative. He recommended a number of local eateries - which I was able to booked in advance (well worth doing - but do also consider tide times as you won’t want to book a table when high tide is due as you miss your opportunity to go out on the water!). Our favourite place was the Gara Rock Hotel followed by a walk down to the beach. Lots of amazing beaches within a drive from the cottage - all seemed to involve driving down incredibly narrow lanes so be warned ! But well worth the effort. We’d love to return to Pipers Cottage again - such a special place - thank you again

Piper's Cottage - a quiet haven in the South Hams.
We enjoyed our stay at Piper's Cottage - parents, grandparents and a 1 and 3 year old. The house was well equipped and comfortable. We loved the front patio - although a week of very poor weather meant we could only sit out twice! We would have used the back garden but, with the lawn and steep steps rather over-grown and the wet conditions, we decided against. We never did venture out in the boat as tides and weather were against us. The area surrounding Piper's Cottage is lovely and we were well placed to explore nearby beaches, towns and villages. The information regarding the area in the cottage file was very useful. Rob and Sian could not have been more helpful, nor John when the water in the shower would not run away. Thank you and we would certainly look to return if we holiday in the area again. Ann and Andrew Ellison

Beautiful cottage on the Creek
We had a lovely time at Pipers cottage and felt we had a very local experience of the area. It's a lovingly restored holiday cottage on a peaceful creek owned by a family who have clearly loved it over the years.  It has a loving and lived feel to it, with a variety of home comforts as well as nods to and styles of the local area. The creek itself is quite magical and the use of the boat makes it so. The location is quite secluded just a mile or so outside of Kingsbridge, and it really was so peaceful. Location is ideal to get to many of the highlighted South Devon Beaches in just 15-20 mins by car (Bantham, Bigbury, Thurlestone, South Milton, Hop Cove etc). We did take our bikes but we didn't much fancy using them with the many hills.  The best bits:  The owners clearly come here themselves ie it's not a tick box for furniture and facilities, many of them make the experience much more lovely.   The king and super king beds are insanely comfortable - as is the bedding.   The deck out the front is lovely and I can imagine many a long night summers night here. It is a charming old cottage with a coastal and cottagey feel. It is creaky and cooler inside (perfect if its hot - but chilly inside if it is cold outside), everything works well and there are mod cons - but it's not modern (there are a couple of good tv's).   There are two fire places which I assumed are usable for cosier winter evenings - one wood burning stove in the dining room which I imagine is so lovely in winter.  Other bits to note: I feel the cold a lot and I felt cold in the cottage at the end of summer (we of course did not put the heating on) - it is airy and cool, my husband and daughter were fine The cottage is set in to the hill on one side and a few metres back from the water and trees on the other. It is a lovely setting but foliage each side does make the cottage slightly darker. The lighting is brilliantly done to accommodate this.  The back garden is steep and wild - lovely but not prim The living room is lovely with comfy arm chairs but not a sofa to cosy up with your loved ones to watch telly Parking is fine for one car, i can imagine for someone who is not used to it, a second card would be better smaller and used to parking tightly. One other thing if you're not familiar with the area. The beaches are amazing - the roads to get there are very narrow, not too narrow but be aware of reversing and driving in to foliage for passing cars!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weeks holiday at Pipers cottage. Set in a very quiet location yet within easy reach of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and local attractions. We particularly enjoyed the terrace and were blessed with warm weather so we used this for both breakfast and bbq on an evening. We made the most of the rowing boat too and our daughter loved going out on the creek. Rob and Sian were very helpful and there expert knowledge and advice for the best beaches and restaurants was spot on.

A Very Special Cottage
Pipers Cottage is a delightful holiday property. The cottage is perfect and the location idyllic. The quality of accommodation is excellent, well equipped and with a lovely terrace and garden. The opportunity to use a rowboat on the creek was a real treat. We have been renting holiday properties for over 30 years, going back to the pre internet days of the Lady! This is easily one of the best we have ever stayed in.

Beautiful location great terrace
We had a wonderful time in Rob and Sian‘s property. The patio and Grill was amazing! We did not really spend too much time in it though as the weather was glorious during the whole week. Whenever we had questions or concerns Rob made sure that everything was addressed immediately. For example we asked if they could provide a baby gate and the next day one was waiting for us. The Communication couldn’t have been better. However, I would not completely recommend this property for families with mobile babies or toddlers since the stairs are steep and the baby gate can only be attached to bedroom doors rather than the stairs. It did mean that that we were kept on our toes somewhat with our daughter but it did not spoil the holiday.

There is space for three medium size cars, two in front of the garage and one just by the steps down to the jetty. However, in fairness, the guests may have had a problem on this occasion as there was some resurfacing work being carried out that week on the drive.

We spent a week at Pipers Cottage and absolutely loved it. The location could not be more beautiful at the end of Collapit Creek and the cottage itself is lovely and full of character. Lovely Devon cottage in great location
We had a wonderful trip to Piper's Cottage for a week of post-Christmas recuperation! The cottage is lovely, well equipped and a very enjoyable place to stay. The coffee machine was great and the beds were super comfortable! It is set in a great location near to local shops, beaches and many walks, though we also just enjoyed pottering about and squelching in our wellies down by the river when the tide was out:-) The play room was a life saver with the kids, with lots of toys and a separate tv. We have booked to come back in the summer and can't wait!

Perfect holiday
We have had the most wonderful week with our 2 children helped of course by the gorgeous half term weather. We enjoyed trips to many of the beautiful beaches and ate out at many of the great pubs and restaurants recommended by Sian and Rob. The cottage itself is located in the most idyllic setting with beautiful views of the creek and ancient stone bridge and we found that we in fact spent a lot of our time just chilling out here. The children loved playing in the creek, crabbing and feeding the swans while we were just happy enjoying a coffee on the bridge or an early evening drink on the jetty. We made the most of the boat with a couple of trips up the creek which is a must as it is very pretty, and even walked right up it one day at low tide. Inside, the cottage was beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and high quality bedlinen. We also found the playroom to be a real bonus as it was full of great toys we all enjoyed playing with. We will definitely be returning next year!

Perfect Hideaway in peaceful setting, yet close to wonderful places to explore and enjoy
What a delightful cottage, set in a beautiful location off the beaten track next to the Estuary. You felt truly relaxed on arrival. Very close to Kingsbridge and Salcombe. The boat was an added bonus and the children enjoyed the creek and the resident, very friendly swan! The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed, great media and Netflix to keep the children entertained in the evening, after a full day out and about (great recommendations in the book for the best places to visit) and very comfy beds to end a perfect day. North Sands, the Winking Prawn, Hope Cove and the CrabShed being particular favourites. We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate in recommending, thank you.

Marvellous holiday!
The four of us had an extremely enjoyable holiday at this nice cottage - helped of course by the heat wave. We enjoyed trips to many of the nearby beaches and there were good pubs and restaurants not too far away. This cottage is on a creek and our children enjoyed feeding the swans and crabbing there. I,myself, enjoyed rowing the boat down the estuary to explore the area further. The cottage itself was cosy with comfortable beds and with plenty of room for the children to play. There was also a huge garden at the back of the cottage, with good views, where the children could play and we could relax. We shall definitely have another holiday there in the near future.

A wonderful hideaway
We stayed for one week in July, a family of four with a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old. The house is well equipped and very well suited for kids. With the front outside terrace area being secure we were able to relax knowing our toddler could not stray too far! There a couple of TV's, DVD players and crucially internet access at a decent speed, about 7mb/sec. There are plenty of great beaches and attractions in the immediate area. Would highly recommend.

It is not possible to not love this place. There was such a positive energy, that we will surely come back soon. The accommodations was perfect, there is nothing more to say than this. Every sunny spot in the garden has it´s own chair. Morning coffee by the creek with the company of swans is so relaxing experience, that can not be described by words. Same as a glass of wine by the sunset in the upper garden. Sian and Rob they jjust have a great taste and their style is breathing on you from everywhere. Thank you very much. We loved it! Dominika

Pretty, spacious cottage in quiet location
This is a really lovely cottage with plenty of space for a family of four to spread out. Would also comfortably accomodate six or even eight . Really good to have a second shower room. The highlight for me was the location. Really quiet and right on the edge of a creek where a patient birdwatcher can see Kingfishers up and downstream of the little stone bridge. Also some great coastal walks within 20-30 mins drive. The owners could not have been more helpful. Will def come back in the summer one day

Home-from-home blissful retreat cottage. We didn't want to leave!
The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, playroom with toys and DVDs for our children (10 & 5), serene views, beautifully equipped kitchen with laundry room off (very useful after our walks), birdsong every morning and no light pollution so we could enjoy the night sky. Off a country lane yet only a couple of minutes to Kingsbridge town with lots of shops and eateries. We ventured to Torquay where we enjoyed the wave pool at the Riviera Centre. We loved Saltram (National Trust), a Georgian mansion with a lovely waitress service tea room in the chapel. The kids literally leaped about at Crealys fun park and animal centre near Exeter - well worth a visit. The goats and donkeys were our favourite. We truly relaxed in this gorgeous home. So glad we were able to stay here rather than somewhere impersonal or poorly equipped. We will definitely return as there's so much to discover in the area and can think of nowhere better to stay.
