Comments on both good and bad.
There were icy spots on the walkway to our room which could have caused a serious fall.
The bathroom was warm and appeared upgraded But the water pressure in the shower was very weak. Bath towels were small.
My biggest complaint was the TV was OLD school. A small flat screen would have been nice. Lighting in the room was weak. The room was very warm. A very nice breakfast.
WOW!!!! Stayed at Alpine Inn for my 2018 Hunting Trip. A Gem in the Catskills. I can't believe such a place was available to me and I never took advantage. Clean, friendly...a charming Tyrolean facility.
Stacey and Jamie were the perfect hosts. A must stay place for your family.
Was told at hotel they didnt get my Expedia Reservation for $95 a night even though I had a receipt. Then I booked only room they had (saw almost no cars there) for $175 a night. Scam - Only did because was worried about not getting anything and it was snowing. Free breakfast not free and I paid but was questioned by staff when we arrived for breakfast next morning- they thought we were trying to steal a breakfast. Oh yea and the breakfast area reeked of cigarette smoke. Staff acted "inconvenienced" booking my room. Rooms were old and outdated, no outlets. Uncomfortable pillows. Much more friendly places around - Never again.
What do you say about a romantic weekend at the Alpine Inn? It was everything I envisioned. The property is family owned and run; the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I rented the separate private chalet and it was perfect. We were there during a beautiful snowstorm. BTW, breakfast is fantastic. No negative comments.
My husband was going to Music Camp for four days and I came along to relax. The owner of the inn knew this and told us the included breakfast would be at 8:30, and charged us the surcharge for two people for the four days. At 8:30 the first morning everything was closed up. I finally saw the housekeeping staff come in and was told the owner cancelled the breakfast because everyone was at Camp. Needless to say, I was not happy. She did make me coffee and fave me a yogurt with an expiration date two weeks before. There is no ice, the toilet barely flushed, and the rooms are not made up every day, which we were not told. Since the nearest place to get any food or coffee is 20 miles away, I took a train into NYC the next day.
The setting is beautiful and the hosts were wonderful. The Alpine Inn is a exceptionally well run family Inn. The family members were always available for helpful ideas and directions on were to go. They also prepared an amazing breakfast that I would compare to 4 star hotels.

Beautiful scenery
Beautiful scenery, fabulous breakfasts but tired decor and some faulty fixtures and fittings let it down.

Three Star B&B
It's a typical Bed & Breakfast, and I'm not a big fan of B&B so I'm a bit biased. We paid almost $300 per night for a family of 4 (2 kids and 2 adults). It's definitely not a luxurious place, but the rooms are clean and everything is decent. Except the smell in the lobby is that of old stuff. Again, this would be a great place to stay if you are crushing for the night as you are going skiing (not at Hunter lol because Hunter is 40 minutes away). I personally think that what we paid is excessive and it should've been way under $200 per night.
Great place, friendly staff, charmingly decor & best free breakfast I've ever had at a hotel

Disappointing
This was the wrong time of year to choose The Alpine Inn. It was basically deserted. It took me a long time to find someone to check in; the restaurant was closed so we had to drive to find some place to eat; there were no coffee set ups in the room and breakfast wasn't available until 8:30 AM.
The photos of the Inn made it seem charming. It lost its charm right away. The room was very dated. The bed was too big for the room. There was a (1) one drawer dresser, because of the size of the bed! The bathroom, well let's not go into it.. enough to say ( just awful) Toilet barely flushed. Air conditioner was so loud we had to turn it off in order to sleep. We weren't expecting 5 stars. We have stayed in some very old, but very nice places. This could be a lovely place if they made some investment. So much for the country inn in the country. What a shame :( We will stay in Kingston next time we are out this way.

Had a wedding. Hotel was very old but that also gives it charm. Didn't use any amenities.

Convenient to Bellaeye Mountain
The rooms have a musty smell. And there is no cell phone service. However there is wifi. The rooms are large and clean and the free breakfast is delicious.
Avoid at all costs, nothing was good about this place.

Ok for what it is.
The room was small with two single beds, I thought I had booked two twin beds, maybe my mistake. The wall mounted TV was a little 13" tube style set, they had cable though. We were there to ski so we didn't spend much time in the room. Parking would've been more convenient if we could've parked next to the building we stayed in but not a real big deal. The décor is consistently circa 1960's Catskill cabin-esq' with everything in lacquered wood, my daughter didn't like it but I thought it had a consistent charm. The breakfast service was nice and the server was polite and conversational. The Inn is about 10-15 min from Belleayre Mountain, and about the same from the town of Phoenicia so convenient to all places we wanted to be. I would stay here again.

Chalet style in the heart of the Catskills
Let me start with the good things; Staff was very pleasant, grounds were well maintained and spacious, breakfast was delicious and hearty, check in and out was painless and quick, bed was firm but comfy, towels soft and abundant. Now the not so good things. Dead bugs on the sill above the Jacuzzi tub (which then fell in the tub, ew), smell of sewage in the lower floor of chalet, screaming baby in the back room when checking in, all the tables in the dining room set with full dishes/silverware even though there were only 2 couples there that weekend (do they just leave them set to collect dust?). I can't give it a bad review, but it was not great. I understand it was the off season, but if you are only serving breakfast between 9-10, then you should be expecting guests during that time and not on your cell phone in the kitchen for 15 minutes while people sit wondering how they get coffee. It's the little things that count.
