Great place

We had a wonderful time - nice place, great location. The checkin email they sent was confusing - the phone number they provided took me to Vail instead of Kirkwood, and the email said there wouldn't be anyone staffing the front desk, but there was (thankfully) - because that is how we had to get the entry code. The people at Kirkwood lodge mentioned that others have raised the confusion. Only other feedback was there were certain things missing from the kitchen like scissors, or bigger mugs (the mugs they had were really small). But no big deal - overall, would go back!

Great base, great skiing vacation

This is a great 1-bedroom apartment and we enjoyed our stay. Warm, dry, comfortable for a family of 4 to hang out, walking distance to the lifts. Two reasons why great. First, it was very clean. Kitchen, dishes, pots, bathroom, all surfaces, bedsheets, floors. With that knowledge, you can relax and enjoy. Second, the apartment is furnished in a very practical manner, quite rare among rentals. As if the owners often used it themselves. Plenty of storage and hooks for your winter clothes, bathroom with enough shelving for everyone to put their stuff, and kitchen well stocked with nice dishes, stainless cookware, even a selection of teas and spices. During our stay a shower pipe broke. We could not use shower for several days so as not to flood the apartment below. The management offered a reasonable solution. That did not work quite as expected, but the management was responsive and we figured out alternatives. I wonder why VRBO does not show photos of the actual apartment, which is cozy and very presentable. VRBO photo shows some corner apartment instead. I do not complain, the real one was a nice surprise.

The apartment was adequate, and comfortable, but the living area was cramped. The bedroom is much smaller than the one shown in the picture to the left. Although they had been cleaned, the carpets were stained and worn. carpet was badly stained, and looked like it was
