"The best hostel we have ever stayed at. Location is perfect plus next door to Woolworths, everything is run and maintained really well. And the evening specials were a lovely bonus"

"We have seen some recent poor reviews - that was not our experience at all. The place was centrally located, clean, wifi worked great, large spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff and the pool was a nice spot to relax. The rooms are tile and concrete - so not much to update. We have zero complaints and would stay there again."

"Overall clean and neat.
Staff are friendly.
Location is good. Short driving distance to most attractions and easy parking around hotel.
Room’s a bit old but still comfortable, good value for the price."

Great hotel for couples wanting to get away from it all. Beautiful private beach and grounds. The hotel is in a secluded area 15 minutes drive from Port Douglas. There are no other hotels or restaurants nearby. If you want to get back to nature and observe the wildlife with the help of the wonderful staff this is the place for you!

Lobby / Bar area is outstanding but rooms and corridors need to be redecorated - looking very tired ie carpets worn / rooms marked chipped furniture etc
Staff where very good although roomS were not made up in the morning and we had to wait until 1700 on one evening Not ideal after having a full day out !!
COCOS restaurant is outstanding we had a awesome New Years Eve Meal which was second to none .
Would we use this hotel again YES

Despite the concerns I had about the hotel from previous reviews, we had a great stay. The hotel is dated and the rooms need a revamp. However the ocean view from the 11th floor more than made up for that. I would definitely recommend the rooms around 1108 as the even numbered rooms seem to be the ocean view ones.

What a breath of fresh air. Such friendly staff, the big hotel chains could certainly learn something about sincerity by watching the front desk staff. Always smiling, always welcoming & always ready to help. On first entering the room I was feeling a little apprehensive. Ear plugs had been left for my wife & I. I needn't have worried though as they certainly weren't required. Would I stay there again? You bet I would.
