The property is full of character and has been tastefully furnished to ensure that guests have a comfortable stay. The open-plan living space includes a kitchen/diner area, which includes a microwave, a cooker hob, a drip coffee machine, dishwasher, kettle and fridge/freezer, as well as a dining table for two.

The cosy sleeping area has a wooden double bed, an antique wardrobe and a flat-screen TV. Then, glass doors lead out to a pretty garden. The owners have lavished as much care and attention on the outside space as on the interiors. Guests can enjoy meals al fresco on the shaded terrace next to the pool. Or they can relax on the sun loungers after a refreshing dip.

Location
The house is set on the hillside which overlooks the Kvarner Gulf, famous for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. Kostrena Beach and Zurkovo Beach are both close by. The local diving school (5-minute drive) can arrange scuba diving and snorkelling around the bay.

If you can tear yourself away from the coast, there is a lot of history to explore. Kraljevica (20 minutes) has not one, but two, castles as well as the Adriatic’s oldest shipbuilding yard and several excellent restaurants and cafés. The port of Bakar (15 minutes) is on the way to Kraljevica, and is known for its harbour-front restaurants, which are ideal for an evening out.

Rijeka (18 mins) also makes a fascinating day out. Croatia’s main port has plenty of interesting places to visit. For self-catering the market (Monday to Saturday mornings) is worth a trip. Here you can find local produce to prepare and enjoy back at home.

Rijeka International Airport is just 25 minutes away, over the Krk bridge.
