Got breakfast though
Booked this hotel for a colleague, who had a late chdck in. The Manager, Andrew, was particularly helpful in ensuring that checkin would still be open.
I have written a complaint to this property, asking to (1) be put in contact with its owners and (2) ask for a refund - as it is NOT in the state that is being promoted at all... with no luck of decent/acceptable feedback or engagement or response to my requests, basically NO engagement or cooperation at all. I had to leave this property within less than 2 hours of arriving, as I did not feel comfortable to stay there. Of course, this property also does not offer any stay with a refundable option, which is questionable and obvious that it is a questionable operation. This is extremely bad!
I have also requested for this property to be removed from the Hotels.com platform, with no such luck or support and my previous reviews have been taken down... which leaves more questions than answers and very disappointing!
We were also NOT provided with a King bedded room as was booked even, but a Queen bed - clearly visible in the picture provided, that was a fixable problem, but the rest was unforgivable.
The hotel is really different to anywhere else we have ever stayed. A true adventure and we gained insight to a slice of South Africa's history in the area.
Driving to the location, you would never have thought there would be such a hidden gem. A beautiful old style manor in the middle of the sugar cane. As we were just passing through and needed a place to sleep over, we didn't get to appreciate the full extent of what the place had to offer. We had a comfortable stay and found everyone to be friendly, helpful and very accommodating from the time we arrived. Looks like it would be an amazing place to hold a function.
