Very friendly staff, the hotel could benefit from some updates and general cleaning. Returning the key every time guests head out of the hotel and retrieving it when coming back was not very convenient. But shouldn't be bad for a short term stay

I stayed for three nights in a foliage season in Kyoto. Room is clean with good amenities, and staff are friendly and professional. It is walkable to the downtown Sanjo where are many fancy restaurants and bars.

This is our second time staying at Hotel Gimmond in Kyoto. It is a great hotel with clean, comfortable but small rooms. The hotel is close to the subway station and to restaurants and shops. And is a 15 min walk away from the Imperial Palace.

Pretty great place. I wasn’t at the hotel much but they have a couple of attached restaurants. Both Nishiki market and Gion are walking distance, so that was a big plus for me. The closest station is also like a 3-5 min walk.

Room was extremely hot, no control over temperature in the rooms. Signs not to open the windows. If you do open the window to cool off you will be listening to traffic all night. Beds and pillows were terrible comparing prices to similar hotels within the area. Staff was very nice. Everything was clean. Room cleaner made the floor smell like BO

Amazing hotel in a fantastic location! The rooms were very clean and had accurate room descriptions. The local restaurants were incredible too!
The hotel is right next to the Nishiki market! Huge plus.
