"The Poas Volcano Lodge is a magnificent piece of architecture. The rooms are huge, the beds and other furnishings are all top quality, and the woodwork is very impressive. The common areas are grand and inviting, the grounds are verdant with a few impressive sculptures. The off-season rates are very reasonable. We loved it! The one area that has room for improvement is the restaurant. Although the staff was very friendly, the meals were average at best. There seemed to be poor communication between the front desk and the restaurant staff regarding pre-ordered breakfast."

The location couldn’t be better—right next to great restaurants and a lively market, which made it easy to grab a good meal without going far. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the room was a comfortable, spacious place to unwind after a tiring day. It’s an ideal stopover spot if you need a clean, convenient, and well-located place to rest before heading back out on your travels. Highly recommend for short stays!"
