"The Peace Lodge is a tranquil escape. There are not very many rooms, so the grounds are quiet. You get the opportunity to walk through the animal sanctuary on the grounds. "The Poas Volcano Lodge is a magnificent piece of architecture. The rooms are huge, the beds and other furnishings are all top quality, and the woodwork is very impressive. The common areas are grand and inviting, the grounds are verdant with a few impressive sculptures. The off-season rates are very reasonable. We loved it! The one area that has room for improvement is the restaurant. Although the staff was very friendly, the meals were average at best. There seemed to be poor communication between the front desk and the restaurant staff regarding pre-ordered breakfast."
