The exterior of the hotel is lovely but once inside it’s very tired. The carpets are worn and stained. No air con or phone in the room. The tea/coffee was not refilled during the service. There is no lift in the section of hotel I was staying. The windows didn’t open much and the was no fan available. It was convenient for where I wanted to be.
The staff I dealt with are very pleasant and there’s a large car park.

The staff were helpful, breakfast excellent
The bed was comfortable and given the age understandable the lack of AC
Overall we enjoyed our stay
The room however does show its age

Impressive building with lovely grounds; however unfortunately our room did not live up to the same standard with wine bottles & beer cans left at the door on entry, along with the odour from the previous guests takeaway. Thankfully the staff were able to accommodate a different room for our stay, but it is worth noting the rooms both shared a rather tired appearance and we left a little deflated bearing in mind the room rate.

"Just OK. Only hotel not to get 5 star in 3 weeks in UK, France and Italy. Not all room amenities worked, "upgrade to room" which was at cost, but was a pair of slippers and a coffee machine. Parking was convenient but expensive."
