Charming Algarve Cottage Slow Escape Terrace & Yoga

This spacious family cottage at Monte Rosa, suitable for 2-5 persons, has a living room with a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. There's a back room with a fireplace and a sofa bed for 2 persons, a loft with a double bed and a separate bedroom with a large double bed (or 2 singles). The cottage has a bathroom with bathtub, toilet and sink. The sun terrace is surrounded by plants and flowers. Guests have access to the swimming pool, yoga lessons and many other activities.
--The loft is not suitable for small children or elderly people.

Monte Rosa is a peaceful rural guesthouse in the unspoiled countryside of the Algarve. Away from mass tourism, it's the ideal place to rest and unwind. But also, if you are looking for an action-packed holiday and love to go hiking or biking, do yoga, try out surfing, enjoy horse riding… When staying at Monte Rosa you will find what you are looking for!

* Accommodation
Monte Rosa's comfortable accommodation consists of various renovated rustic buildings that once formed a farm with its own wine cellar and horse stables.

Set in 10 acres of rural land surrounded by old almond, olive and fig trees, guests can book any of the 8 rooms and apartments available, which vary in decor, size and facilities.

All rooms have pleasant outside seating areas and access to the swimming pool. In the winter, we provide indoor heating facilities.

* Location
Monte Rosa is located only 2 km from Barao de Sao Joao, a picturesque village where you can find two small supermarkets and some nice restaurants and cafes.

The historical town of Lagos is only 9 km away from Monte Rosa. In Lagos, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve, lots of restaurants, shops, museums and interesting monuments.

Faro Airport is about 90 km and 1 hour drive away. At Monte Rosa we provide a transfer service from and to the airport. We can also arrange car hire for you, which will give you the freedom to explore the southwest of the Algarve.

* Meals
Breakfast: At Monte Rosa, we serve a daily breakfast (€ 10 pp, not included in your booking) with fresh fruit, juice, greek yoghurt, granola, herbal tea and coffee, different types of bread with various kinds of cheese and your choice of eggs - laid by our own chicken. Our breakfast will give you shades of energy to start your day.

Dinner: On Monday, Wednesday and Friday we serve a home cooked three-course meal (€ 22 pp, not included in your booking) prepared with ingredients directly from our own garden. Usually we cook vegetarian or with fish, if preferred we can prepare a meat dish as well.

In case of any special dietary request, we will always try our best to accommodate your needs.

* Activities
At Monte Rosa, you can unwind and enjoy nature in peace and tranquility. We offer a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where you can recover from the stress and strains of modern, everyday life.

If you are looking to fill your stay with enjoyable activities, we are able to offer many different experiences such as:

In our own activity room, the beautiful Round House, you'll find a range of different classes and workshops, such as weekly yoga lessons, djembé drumming, spiritual theater workshops, mantra singing, sound healing, painting courses, etc. Guests of Monte Rosa are always welcome to join the activities in The Round House.

* Children
We love children and enjoy their open attitude and spontaneous joy. At Monte Rose, kids will not be bored! They can enjoy our playground and pool, play different games, help feed the animals or use our dressing-up clothes.

Keeping with our ethos though, strive to maintain our peaceful environment and ask that all children show respect for one another, for other guests present at Monte Rosa, for our animals and the environment.
