"The room was clean and well-maintained. Some of the staff members were very courteous and helpful, while others came across as less accommodating. The kitchen was a positive feature; however, additional charges applied for renting coffee makers or kitchenware, which led us to purchase our own paper plates and plastic utensils for the week. Considering the rate paid, I believe more amenities should have been included. We primarily used the accommodation as a place to sleep, and given the price, alternatives with additional features such as a pool or other amenities might have been more suitable. The location was convenient and close to all necessary destinations. I would consider returning, but I would opt for a more affordable room, as the current offering mainly serves as a sleeping space without additional amenities. "
"I guess the adage 'you get what your pay for' applies here. I stayed here for two nights in March on business and needed an inexpensive hotel. But the place was just depressing, old, shabby and un-cared for. Everything from the window blinds not reaching the edge so anyone could see in, to the wall-mounted a/c unit right by the bed sounding like Concorde on take-off. Impossible to sleep as it went on and off all night long. Add to all that the ingrained dirt on the shower floor, the tiny, wafer-thin towels, to the cheapo coffee machine not working. Hated to the mis-matched yard-sale furniture and all the wires dangling from the wall-mounted TV. No iron and ironing board either. Went down for coffee and a bagel for breakfast in the lobby, but at 8am it was still closed. As for the few positives, the bed was clean and comfy, the property felt safe and parking plentiful, and the location was excellent, close to West Palm. But wouldn't dream of staying here again."
2 Bed/1 Bath Historic Cottage Near the Beach w/ Pool-Bikes-WiFi-Cute & Cozy!
10/10 Excellent
"Great location- walkable to everything. Cute set up, wish we had more time to do spend there. Having beach chairs, washer/dryer and full kitchen set up was a real bonus. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Lake Worth. "
"If you just need a place to lay your head, it’s worth it for the price. Was not terribly clean, hairs in the sink, “something” on the comforter. I just used my own blanket. Washcloths are very cheap like they are disposable maybe. Also, doors to the outside are a little funky and you have to kind of wiggle them (this was explained at check in) but when we closed the door you could see out from the inside. So make sure you really close it well. Quick drive to the ocean beach was nice. 2/5 for me. Could be better, could be worse. "
"This was our second stay at the property, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. We were charged more than the amount we originally booked for, and at the time, we were told the excess would be refunded—but we never received it. On top of that, we were charged an additional $20 for a stained shower curtain, even though the shower was not used during our stay.
While the property itself is nice, our experience with the billing was frustrating and disappointing. I would recommend double-checking charges and being cautious, as we were billed for things we did not do and did not receive the promised refund."
NEW:::Papa Joe's Beach Cottage Walk to the beach or downtown!
6/10 Okay
"First the good: the host let us check in early which really helped. The backyard is very nice, the pool was heated and fun to have the hottub. The main house is cute, although the set up and furniture are very different than the pictures. The kitchen is well equipped. Now the bad: I had questions re what was in the house so I could bring some stuff with me. I never got a response till the day of check in, after we had already travelled there. The cottage smelled very strong of a mixture of mold and chemicals. It burned our noses. We were told that it was fresh paint smell. It was not. Then we discovered the sink was leaking, and the floor was continuously wet. The repair guy was supposed to come on Saturday but did not show up till Monday. When he came, he told us that one whole portion of wall was rotted out. This is likely what we were smelling. Mold. Rotting wood. NOT GOOD. My kids had been sleeping out there the previous 3 nights, as we needed the bed, and were not aware they were inhaling possible mold the entire time. We moved them inside the last night and could not use the cottage. I emailed the owner and three weeks later have gotten no response. We also accidentally left two items at the house and asked if we could get them and he has not responded to that either.Because of the fact that part of the house is unfit and unhealthy to stay in, and because of Gus’ lack of communication or even acknowledging what happened, I cannot recommend this rental.
