I think we had the smallest room at the hotel with a dog! We arrived at the hotel straight from the beach and while my husband was in the shower we discovered no towels were in the room. I had to go down two floors (lift broken!) just for staff to tell me sorry no towels available while they wait for their linen delivery. It would have been very helpful to be told this at check-in ten minutes prior! The room was boiling hot and no fan available in the whole hotel. We booked for three nights and left after one!

The room was unclean and very dirty. Food on the floor, smears on the kettle, and a stained duvet cover and hair on the sheets. They changed my room and the second room was serviced better, but was still dirty. Upholstery is stained, carpets are stained and not recently vacuumed. But since the sheets and towels were clean I stayed one night. It was the same with the hallway and staircases - heavily stained stained and unvacuumed carpets in the stairwells. Stained surfaces on wallpaper, kettles, etc.

I like the character and location of the property and the staff are doing the best that they can. The property is dated and in need of investment. The bedroom could have been a bit cleaner (hoovering the carpet which did not seem to happen during my stay) and the bedding did not fit the mattress. The staff were kind and helpful though some better manners from certain bar staff would have gone a long way. The food was great.

Absolutely loved our stay here and wish we could’ve stayed for longer.. I didn’t get a chance to use the pool or the spa as we had such lovely weather and we’re enjoying the beach. Staff lovely, comfy bed and lovely shower!
