Bare bones but close to beach
We stayed in July 2023 for two weeks.
PROS: Las Canteras is GORGEOUS and this location is super close to the beach. You can walk to literally everything. Tons of restaurants, stores, shops, grab a towel and you are on the spectacular beach. The beach is literally around the corner 1-2 min walk. This apartment has a washer & dryer. We used the washer & drying rack every day no need to overpack. 5 twin beds - we made that work and knew ahead of time. Bathroom was large. The price was very affordable. Check-in was easy. The size was decent enough for our family of 5. Breezes off the ocean kept the place a comfortable temperature most of the time with all windows open.
CONS: Everything is run down. The wooden kitchen countertop is rotten and moldy. The couches, rug, curtains, towels, floors are grimy. 5 total drinking glasses of various odd sizes, one of which was broken. The bathroom sink leaked and it’s obvious from the mold in the cabinet this is not a new problem. We left a few messages yet they never sent anyone. We put a pan under the sink. The location is right above two loud bars. Since there is no AC, the windows need to be open and it’s impossible to sleep with the bright building lights & constant bar noise until 3am. Exterior construction early. 3rd “bedroom” doesn’t have a window. 2nd bedroom closet is broken/unusable. Will we pay more next time
