Stone eco-friendly villa, beachfront acreage. Penguins, koalas
10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The fire kept us warm and snug. The wildlife was amazing and the view was fabulous. We knew we were in the bush as the penguins near our bedroom were busy talking and getting back to the sea at 6.00am in the morning They were very cute. Even though the weather was cool and rainy we could still rug up to see the penguins at night time. The echidna and the kangaroos were also welcome visitors on the road into the cottage each day. Communication with Wilma and Eric was easy even though they were out of the state. Problems were dwelt swiftly and graciously. Thank youLynne, Mark and Lynda "
"Only about 10mins from shops, yet you're on a quiet farm which included alpacas, horses & chickens. Super friendly host that came to say hello. Great location off an easy access street. Massive place that will comfortably fit up to 8 people. Best place to atay on Kangaroo Island."
"We had the most idyllic stay at King George Beach Retreat. It’s easy to see why everyone gives rave reviews. The character filled timber cottage, right by the sea is a fabulous place to simply relax and unwind. The private beach is perfect - with dolphins pretty much daily while we were there and a resident opsrey to enjoy. Kangaroos and heath monitors are regular visitors. It’s also a great place to use as a base to explore the island’s beautiful other places. We fell in love with the island and the chance to be completely remote from most civilisation. However, we think you really need a couple of weeks to do the place justice. The house is most beautifully appointed with quality bedding and equipment. It had absolutely everything we needed. And Will called in to deliver a plentiful supply of wood in case we wanted a fire, but the weather was very kind. Although we did have a wonderful thunderstorm our first night. Thank you Kirsty and Chris for enabling us to share this wonderful place. "
"The property’s rural location is fabulous and offers outstanding views across Snelling beach. The ambience is lovely and the property is well equipped. Each pod is well separated from its neighbour. The bed is very comfortable and there is absolute silence at night. Our two night stay was delightful.
However, as it is off grid there is no microwave, toaster or washing machine.
We were disappointed there were no coat hangers to hang our clothes.
It would be advisable to take some insect repellant as we had quite a few mosquitoes gain entry on our last night."
"Waves and Wildlife was a perfect oasis for our stay on KI. The hosts were super friendly and we loved everything about the place especially the wildlife"
