Room was ok .. shower great .. bed comfy 10 mins walk into York central.. parking costs ok but not sure it should be an additional cost for the booking.. air con is only portable on ground floor so needed ventilation hose out of the window which is not very secure on ground floor on roadside! Staff done their best but needs a few upgrades and booking should identify that before reservation

8.6/10 Excellent! (1,006 reviews)
We stayed for one night in a four-poster bedroom. The room was basic but perfectly adequate, with some nice extras like a chocolate bar and water. Although there was no air conditioning—typical for an older building—a large fan was provided, which worked well for us. However, I can imagine it might have been quite uncomfortable if the weather had been hotter. The bathroom was clean and simple. One of the slats in the window was missing, so it was fortunate that no one could see in. The extractor fan was rather noisy and continued running for a long time after the shower had finished. We didn't mind it, but I could understand why others might complain. The most frustrating aspect of this hotel is that they do not allow you to leave your bags after checking out. Instead, they recommend an app that helps you find places where you can pay to store your bags for a few hours. If it weren't for this issue, I would definitely consider booking again the next time we are in York.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (199 reviews)
Okay but not worth the price I paid. The internet completely failed by the second day which meant I couldn't prepare for my interview without online access, and I couldn't use my mobile service as my room was in the basement with no signal. Not suitable for business trips. This also meant I couldn't watch the TV. Every time I called the hotel staff they weren't available so gave up. The bathroom was really pokey and shower flooded. Everything else was lovely and was relieved there was an iron and hairdryer. But decent WiFi and shower are vital things overshadowed my stay. Was not worth the £270 for 2 nights sadly
