A nice place to stay
Lovely place in a very quiet village. Nice bar area and lovely room. My room had a toilet, but the shower was on a different floor, which was inconvenient, but not too much hassle.

Great place to stay for personal service.
Excellent small hotel, with personal service. Good tasting and reasonably priced food in the restaurant. Would thoroughly recommend.

The room was immaculate. The showers where hot. The parking for my car, safe and secure. The restaurant had high end great food. The staff where friendly and welcoming. I've stayed at hotels for work all over Europe and this was one of the nicest I've stayed in.

Clean spacious pleasant no breakfast sparce prking
Room was fine, nicely sized and clean. No breakfast but had a good selecting of tea and coffee and everything else we could have needed. Parking on site was free the 1st night but we don't it full then next night due to inconsiderate parking taking up all the space so we had to park on the road outside.

Ideal location
Ideal position as we were working at Mallory park race track, shower in the room was a little strange, in the corner of the room but with a clear glass door, so you could watch your partner shower from the bed😂😂. Disappointed that bar and kitchen are shut on a Sunday evening as we didn’t get finished til 1730, went to Barwell for a takeaway, staff very helpful providing cutlery and plates for the room. Would definitely stay again if working in area again.

This is a bit of a gem: a beautiful converted farm house situated in a very quiet and beautiful part of Leicestershire, dedicated staff and a rather excellent restaurant in what was once a diary. The courtyard is pleasantly gardened and I found it just ideal for a get away.

Lovely place, full of charm, relaxing!
A lovely place, full of charm, the room was very clean and a super comfortable bed. The only downside? Difficult to find at night but a quick phone call guided us through. I would definitely stay here again.

Great value is to be found at Kirkby Manor. The garden rooms are basic but comfortable. The rooms in the main house have more character and space, but come with a corresponding higher price. Good pub food and a very large breakfast. Breakfasts have to be ordered the previous evening, with choices selected on a menu card found in the room.

Carpets were black and tatty. Lighting was poor and roomeas dated. Bathroom whilst clean was dated too Breakfast was awful.I was first in a 7am.I had to preorder and it said you had to be on time.It wasnt ready at 7 am .When it arrived, the baked beans were crusty; sausages were cheap and deepfried: eggs were slimy and bacon was greasy.All this for 8.95.Just glad I didnt have dinner as I was still working.Really disapponting

While the staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is as good as it can be, Frank the manger/owner is a terrible drain on the place by being rude, aggressive, bullying his staff and generally making your experience a bad one. I feel sorry for the people who work there and the guests he criticises behind their backs. I will now not go back after seeing him at his worst.

Great hotel, just off the beaten track
As per many previous reviews, this is one lovely hotel. Some of the decor is a little tired, but the value for money is incredible. The bedroom was large, and the bed comfortable, the service excellent, and Frank cooked me the nicest lamb shank that I have ever had. James was amazing in the restaurant too, and it is a very quiet road, and lovely walks around.

Good friendly service and great location
The staff and owners were friendly and the hotel and the accommodation felt like being home from home. Very comfortable and clean. Lots of pride taken in everything this hotel does and offers you as a guest.The food was very well presented and I would recommend the steak. The English breakfast was excellent. They offered a full-service restaurant and both my meals were home made and good value for money. I will return again.
