We had a wonderful stay - very clean and modern room with gorgeous views of the lake. Quieter than if we had stayed in Bellagio but fairly easy to get there by ferry or by bus. We dined at three local restaurants for dinner - all of them wonderful food and great staff.

A four-star boutique hotel with the standards of a five-star property. The rooms and restaurant are definitely five-star quality. The pool is large and never too crowded, and there is also a small beach if you want to swim in the lake. Just bear in mind that the hotel is not easy to reach. You either need to drive your own car or arrange a car service. For example, the fare from the hotel to Milan is €240. Local buses are very crowded and can be almost impossible to board.

A short but absolutely lovely stay at Filario. Romantic, comfortable, luxurious. You won't want to leave the property for any reason if you're here for only a couple of days. It was at Filario that I was finally able to relax and truly start enjoying my vacation. Pool views and the restaurant were sublime. The gift bag will remind me if Como long after the trip is over. Worth every penny.

Our stay was lovely. If you are planning to be in the Lake Como area, but would like to avoid the hustle and bustle of Bellagio/Varenna/Como, I highly recommend Filario in Lezzeno. It’s a quieter town, with ferry and bus access to get wherever you need to be on the lake. It’s also not a bad idea to spend the day at Filario itself. Lovely private beach, excellent included breakfast, and beautiful rooms with an unbeatable view. Highly recommend!

Nice room and view, which you would expect for the cost. However this is far from being a 5-star hotel. Attitude of the some of the staff is so poor (breakfast staff, front desk staff). Also watch out for hidden costs (parking is not free - €25 per day), check if your rate includes breakfast (otherwise it’s also €25 per person per day), and the beach/snack bar is chargeable too - so, again, despite the heavy cost this is not an all-inclusive experience and you are basically invisible to staff once you’ve checked in. Be warned - this hotel wants your cash and then they’re off!!
