Hotel is dated and had an awful smell. Definitely not 4 star! We were in a room on the third floor disturbed all night with a party in the hotel hall!!

First impressions were okay I’m very quiet place . When checking in the lady behind the desk informed us that she lost the key to the room that we was allocated and move me and and my partner to a room to a different room. We went into the room and very quickly I noticed that the door was already open, as going in we tried to lock the door behind us and the bowel in the door lock was jammed meaningless of security risk. Went back to the reception and told her the situation to then give us a a new room a couple of doors down. As we opened the new room, we was very cautious about what happened in the other room so we checked the door to then our surprise we couldn’t open the door and found that the door was shut tight because of fresh paint that had been me and my partner had to physically pull the door to open the door so we could go back to reception and complain yet again about another problem that we had . I think all in all we had three room changes in the space of half an hour. I asked the lady behind the reception if had a maintenance person on site and they said no and by the looks she was the only person on Shift that night as she was running the bar and the restaurant as well . There’s two doors in the reception that has been banging all night. I’ve got woken up at 1 o’clock in the morning by people banging the doors . I’ll come here to have a night away so then go home and have to have a nap because of the unsettled night I had here.

I was not happy about everything

The room was clean and the staff at reception were lovely, the security at the doors on a night make you feel safe. My only three issues were how rundown the on campus parking was the floor was cracking in on itself and the second issue is that we never got a do not disturb sign, third issue is when we approached our room a cleaner was in it and so we said this is our room sorry we never received a dnd sign and she just let us in so that made us feel uneasy as anyone could have said that was their room and they’d been let in.
