8.6/10 Excellent! (1,698 reviews)
Great location, but the bedroom was very tired and outdated and overdue a refurb. Sleep quality was poor - mattress far too squishy and too much noise. Never thought I'd say this, but earlier in the week I spent a few nights in a newish Travelodge (Rhyl) which was a far, far superior experience in respect of space, cleanliness, decor, comfort and sleep quality.

"The location was excellent, right in the heart of Shrewsbury with paid for parking if you needed. My husband loved the history and quirkiness of the hotel and this made his stay enjoyable. "5th stay here. Always a lovely visit. Highly recommend breakfast. Clean room and nice amenities. Had to use the overflow parking around the back. But its a better spot less crowded and very handy if you're staying in the annex building which we prefer."
