We loved our stay!

We really enjoyed our stay, especially enjoying the view from the front lawn of the house.With the bus stop only a few steps to the north and a beach a few steps and a staircase to the south, we really took advantage of the location and enjoyed our time spent in Bermuda.Our host and family were friendly, kind, and we appreciated them so much.We would definitely come back.

Great location with lovely private beach

The best parts of our stay were the location of this property, the nearby private beach, and the super nice, and helpful host, Wendell. We stayed in a separate, private section of his home, and it was clean, comfortable and quiet. We'd recommend it to a couple seeking a low-key, affordable getaway!

Beautiful spot in Bermuda

Wendell and Xinia were very welcoming and kind. They have a beautiful piece of paradise and we’re lucky they are willing to share. I wish we were still there! The location is great. Within walking distance to a pantry and some restaurants and the bus stop is right out front. Definitely recommend and will be back! Thanks again!

Ocean Comfort

The property is a well appointed, clean and comfortable room with a private entrance, bath and some kitchen amenities (refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, etc.) Quick walk to lovely beach. Wendell is a fantastic host! Highly recommend!

Hope to be back

We stayed 12 days at Whispering Waves And had an excellent time. Wendell, Xinia,and jasmine are a lovely family, with a wealth of knowledge to share about their island. The views from their home are beautiful overlooking the ocean with a large green space. There’s a table for two outside your private entrance. There’s a bus stop in either direction on the road side of the property, we traveled on the bus every day, if you get the bus pass, you can travel from one end of the island to the other and also use it on the ferries for one price.You can’t ask for a better host and his wife, we hope to return againBetty an Terry

Location, Location, Location

We had a wonderful time staying here. The views are amazing & the location can’t be beat. We used the ShoreLink app to purchase our bus passes & it was so easy to catch the bus. The bus stops are literally just a few yards away from the unit. The unit is small, but we didn’t spend a lot of time there. It was stocked with the basic essentials to prepare a light meal or snack. Henry VIII’s is within walking distance for a nice meal or carry out. The hosts were extremely nice. We met Wendell, but mostly had the pleasure of dealing with his daughter, Jasmine. As a previous review stated, it’s not fancy, but it was perfect for us & reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Beach

We loved our stay. It had a beautiful beach within a 5 minute walk. There were bus stops right outside our door. There was a private entrance and wonderful spots to sit and enjoy the view on the property. Our host was helpful. He let us drop off our luggage early and gave excellent advice on spots to check out on the island. Highly recommend.

The owners were a blessing to know and work with.

Beautiful location, clean, neat. The ocean views were amazing. The owners were a kind family and fixed dinner for me on my first night there. They made sure I had what I needed. The weather was rainy and cooler than expected and I did not get much sight seeing in but that’s ok because this was a business trip and I spent most of my time on my computer. Next trip will be more for pleasure and hopefully much warmer.

Bermudaful

Spring Break 2024 and a major rain storm in Miami delayed and cancelled our flight till the next day, losing an night in our stay, an early flight the next day with transportation arranged to the property allowed for our host Wendall to give us a personal tour in his vehicle from Hamilton to the Dockyards, that was so comprehensive and interesting that we were able to ensure getting the most of our remaining time in Bermuda. Wendall was a 5 star saviour with what to do, what to see, and where to eat, it all made our stay very memorable. Bermuda as I quipped is exceptionally picturesque or simply "picture perfect".

Everything was lovely!

The property was lovely, it had everything that we would expect and needed. The location was as described, being able to sit outside and see the beautiful water everyday was awesome. We went to Horseshoe Bay almost everyday. It is an easy walk there. From the front of the home, you can sit and see the lighthouse and the golf course as well. We ate out everyday so it was nice that several restaurants were within walking distance. There is a bus stop just outside of the home so it was convenient to catch the bus everywhere, to Hamilton, to dockyard, to St. George's and even to and from the airport. The scooter place up the road was convenient as well and we took advantage of that one day too. Wendell and Xinia were wonderful and polite hosts. We would definitely stay there again!

Unbelievable location + most kind and generous hosts

Wendell and his wife were so incredibly kind and so generous with their time. They took us on a driving tour of the island to get us acquainted with our surroundings- it ended up making a huge difference to how we spent our time. The location is in walking distance to restaurants (including some of the best sushi I’ve ever had). The views from the property and everywhere you walk are incredible. The private beach for the neighborhood was AMAZING. We had it ALL TO OURSELVES. You can also walk to Horshoe beach - which is the most incredible experience!!! important to note you can walk to the scooter, bike and mini electric car rental place. This helped a lot. The interior could use some updating, but you won’t be spending your time inside.

Amazing birthday getaway

It is a beautiful place! It is only a 2 minute walk to the beach.The beach is not public and not too many visitors. The condition of the beach is excellent.The room has everything for comfortable staying. Wendell's house has a great front yard with the fantastic view.The owner Wendell, his wife Xinia,daughter Jasmine and his mother are friendly, cooperative, have great personality, and are ready to help when you need any assistance. They are also dedicated to share useful information. Wendell drove us around the wonderful island by showing us beautiful places and places that were useful for us during our vacation(restaurants, beaches, shops, bus station). The best vacation of our lives

Wendell & his darling wife & daughter are so welcoming. They treat you like family. He will arrange a taxi to pick you up from the airport & he will suggest plenty of things to do & help steer you away from over-rated tourist traps. The property is even better than the photographs. A beautiful garden right outside your door. Mini fridge, microwave & hot plate came in handy. There are lovely places in walking distance, especially the resident only beach. It is down a few flights of stairs but very well worth it, more private than the crowded Horsehoe Bay. He will give you a cooler to bring with you & you can get ice at Henry's Pantry which is a 8 min walk down the street. Also ask Wendell about their chicken! we grabbed 4 legs & had lunch on the beach. Bring cash for taxis. Wendell suggested getting bus day passes but we didn't travel too far from the property & when we did we usually got back past the last bus so we just used one way tickets which cost about $4 & taxis for the rest. We loved the water view hot tub & was thankful it wasn't too hot when we wanted to cool off in the day but didn't want to make the trek down to the beach & get sandy. We would definitely stay w/ Wendell again & we would be lucky to. Trust the reviews. You get a way better experience in a local's home rather a hotel. More privacy all around. Wendell's paradise will not disappoint you but instead surprise you! He has been in the hospitality industry for a long time & it truly shows.

Grand Hospitality

The owners are wonderful. The property is the perfect place to have a cup of coffee or wine by the ocean. Access to the private beach was terrific (but lots of stairs). Right on the bus line for the South Road made getting back and forth from Hamilton and the Dockyards a breeze. I loved getting to see the parishes as I rode the bus. Jasmin even took us to the airport when we couldn't get a taxi. We'd love to stay again.

Great location for walking to Horeshoe Bay

Owner Wendall was very nice (via email) but we never met him as his wife had an emergency and they were off property. His daughter Jasmine met us upon our arrival and even arranged taxi transport back to the airport on the day we left. The room is basic and small (size of a bedroom with private bathroom) but compared to expensive Bermuda hotels it was worth it. Henry’s pantry and restaurant is 5 minute walk. Horseshoe Bay from the apartment to the beach is about a 20 minute walk. Bus stop right outside. We rented an electric car for the day at Oleander at the Reefs which was 10 minute walk. You can see Gibbs lighthouse from the yard. Beautiful views of the ocean from front of house. We were in the back of the house facing the road, very private. The hottub was not in service which disappointed my husband who has a bad back. Bed was comfortable. We had a very nice 4 nights in Bermuda!

Beach side Beauty

The property is so nice with a beachy vibe. The room is cozy with a full bath, dorm fridge, and microwave. The owner and his wife are so delightful. Wendell took us on a very thorough tour of the island showing us places that we would have not seen had we not been with him. The beach is just a little walk down the block and down some stairs. It’s a gorgeous beach! Of course you won’t find any beach less than beautiful in Bermuda. There are really great restaurants within walking distance as well as Horseshoe Bay Beach. This little piece of paradise is located in a very good area and surrounded by some of the best places to eat. You can’t go wrong with this area and stay.

An excellent place to stay!

I stayed a week at Wendell and his family's home and definitely could have stayed longer. This was a great spot for me, as I love having easy access to a beach without a lot of noise/people. I visited the private beach every day of my stay and most nights as well. It was a great spot to watch the stars at night and the Longtails during the day. The road outside can be busy/noisy with traffic at times, but it's also extremely convenient to have the bus stops right there.I would definitely stay again :)

The stunning beauty of the property and the hospitality of Wendell is exactly as you've read in the other reviews. If you want to stay near the beautiful beaches on the South Shore you can't beat it. If you'd like to be within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and nightlife, Hamilton is probably more your speed.

Convenient and reasonable

This isn’t the fanciest place you will ever stay at, if you want fancy stay down the road at the Reefs. For the price this place can’t be beat. Right outside is the bus stop which we took everywhere. Wendell went above and beyond what we would expect from an owner when we left part of our luggage in the driveway. He met us in town so we wouldn’t miss our plane. Nice guy and a wealth of information about Bermuda.

Wow! Like the property title says, LOCATION is amazing!!! You are on the cliff above a beautiful and private beach. Its a true paradise!!!! Most days it was just us on the beach. You do need to be able to do stairs to go to and from the beach since it is on a cliff, but its so worth it for the amazing views! The public bus system stops directly in from of the property, so getting around for cheap is really easy. The room is great with everything you need. The owner, Wendell, greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the property. He was so kind and inviting and answered any questions we had. He also told us some history of Bermuda. I would surely stay here again and would recommend you stay as well. Thanks for your kindness, Wendell! ♥️

Seaside cottage - private beach

The owner, Wendell is a wealth of information- a local that knows everything and probably everyone. The small hilltop unit is a 2 min walk to a private cove ( down many stairs) for swimming and relaxing . Quaint and quiet location overlooking a breathtaking view. We used the convenient bus stop a few steps away to see everything on the island. We love the south shore location and the friendly hosts.
