"Staff member at reception on arrival was super friendly and made some great recommendations of things to do during our stay. The room was a great size and clean. We throughly enjoyed breakfast most morning. Food was hot and a good selection of hot items were available. There wasn't a great selection of Continental items available. But what was there was fresh and tasty."

"Just returned home,stayed at this very good peaceful hotel ,Andrew was busy planting up in his very nice garden to this hotel,and offered us to change out of our motorbike gear as it was very hot as we arrived early. We had the most amazing breakfast ,did not get the young lady that made this but she was very helpful on our on going journey to the ferry. The room was lovley. Well done galley of the lorne.and staff. Bob and Anne"

"We loved our stay. Clean and very large room with extra seating area and large bathroom. Very clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We walked the grounds and saw some seals swimming. We ordered an afternoon tea and had a little car trouble so we called to let them know we’d miss it and they packed up all the food for us to take with us the next day. So thoughtful. The bar and restaurant were great. The grounds and views are beautiful. It’s a little bit of a drive from anything else we’d planned to see in Scotland but worth it to slow down and enjoy the scenic grounds and castle. I highly recommend it. Stay at 2 nights to get the full benefit. One night isn’t enough to get the full castle away from it all feeling."

"It was an interesting place to stay. It’s a listed property that is being renovated as allowed. We had a good sized bedroom but with noisy floors in the bathroom as well not too keen on electric showers but eventually got water at the right temp. Breakfast started off being a challenge as there was nothing we wanted but we had a conversation and someone went shopping so all was well for the three days we were there. The hotel must have been a really grand building as a lot of the original features exist still . The dining room has recently been decorated and is a very pleasant place to be. We only ate there once and the food was enjoyable. Parking available on site and across the road the ferry to Gurock so very convenient. Close to Benmore botanic garden which is great and about 50 mins from the castle of the Dukes of Argyll well with visits"

Loch Fyne Hotel And Spa

"Lovely two night stay at the Loch Fyne Hotel. Staff were welcoming and cheery. Spa treatments were incredible and I have never felt so relaxed! Food was lovely, perhaps slightly expensive but just my own opinion. Didn’t get a chance to use the spa facilities like the pool etc but wish I had as it looked like a beautiful space. Room was cosy and ideal for what I needed. I found the bed a little too soft but that’s personal preference. The chairs were a little tatty and could do with being updated. The TV was not smart, so couldn’t cast things to watch on the apps, but again, a minor thing. All in all I would rate highly, and enjoyed my time away from the hustle and bustle of home life."
