Mold in the shower, tiles appear to be barely hanging on to the ceiling, no vent fan in the bathroom (probably the cause of the mold in the bathroom), shower could definitely use new shower heads (they were heavily calcified), no filtered fresh water source (no water fountain, icemaker, or water bottle refill station), there is not someone on staff 24/7. I think I only saw a receptionist twice during my whole stay (both times he was in the office with the door shut), NO PARKING. Pros: close walking distance to food and grocery stores, if you have a car and need to park there is a parking lot by Hotel Lily and it’s relatively cheap compared to other places (£32 for 2 days), comfy bed.

Great value
Very warm welcome from the friendly staff. The room was clean and tidy. The location is perfect as it's 2 mins walk from the underground station where the Piccadilly and the district lines run. We loved it and if we need to be in the area again, we know where we'll stay! Highly recommend.

Convenient
This hotel is convenient to Earls Court station. The rooms are clean and furniture is in keeping with the style of property. Towels and bed linen changed daily, Wi-fi and TV good. Room has windows and very quiet area

The property is in a great location for Earls Court tube. It's a quiet modest place to stay in need of some modernisation. It was clean and comfortable

This was clearly a budget hotel, decor in the public area was very tired. The room was a little better, the beds were comfortable & the bathroom was clean & modern with an ok shower. We dropped an earring & had to move the bedside cabinet to retrieve it & found a fast food sauce packet & very dirty skirting board so the cleaning was not very thorough. The hotel was in a good location which suited our needs & overall the price fairly reflected the quality of the hotel

Great walkup hotel in Kensington
Clean, well-maintained hotel in older building, convenient walking distance to the Kensington museums, and 2 blocks from the Piccadilly and District lines. Perfect for my purposes of a quiet, comfortable, warm place to sleep on a solo walking-based tour of London. Furnishings old but serviceable. Water temperature and pressure ideal. Staff, especially Nina, polite and responsive. To enjoy staying at this hotel, you do need to be comfortable climbing stairs, since there is no lift. If you use CPAP or other bedside electric appliance, be sure to bring your extension cord, since the closest electric outlet is on the other side of the room.

Inexpensive basic room. Good value for the price. Great location - a block from Earls Court tube and a short walk to Gloucester Road tube. Stores, restaurants, ATMs, etc are close by, but the hotel is on a quiet street.

Meets what I require for short visit
Ideal location for my trip, few minutes from Earls Court tube station. Check in easy , staff pleasant. Room was okay size, tea coffee facilities. Shower old but worked. Overall price reasonable , i have been here before and would book again.

Great location and friendly staff - TLC needed
Very well located for Earls Court Tube & The museums, friendly check in, Room could do with a bit of TLC / Refurb as had seen better days, beds were comfy and clean, main downsides were the bathroom condition however for the money and New Year’s Eve it was worth the compromise - this hotel could be so much more with not too much money being thrown at it, recommended if you just need somewhere to rest your head, One other issue was no Operational central heating But an oil filled radiator was provided to plug in.

Very Disappointing
The beds were comfortable but the room was very out dated & the carpet didn't look very clean, the bathroom not clean at all we had to wipe it all down before we used it, & we had no cold water only hot water in both taps. When we spoke to the reception staff about a few things when we arrived he was very good & tried to sort things out for us, but when our other friends arrived a few days later their room was disgusting & not what was advertised so after trying to find somewhere else as they had nothing else available the other receptionist attitude was disgraceful when trying to sort out cancelling their booking & not being charged for this, eventually having to contact Hotels.com to sort this out for us which they were amazing. Overall very disappointing stay at this hotel.

We actually liked this hotel, it is clean, tidy and in a quiet location off of the Earls Court Road. Access to local shops, the Museums are walk-able. Buses into the west end, Victoria and Oxford Street run close by. Our only disappoint was the bed, it was so uncomfortable we didn't sleep well. Update that that and we would stay again.

Location isn't bad but that's probably the only positive about this place... The outside looks ok, the common areas look crap, but then the rooms look rather nice. When I booked this online (2 nights), it all went smoothly. But when I arrived to check-in, I was told that by the receptionist (who at this point was SUPER polite) that there had a been mistake, and almost begged me to be ok with changing to a different room after my 1st night. I said no problems - don't want to be a downer. All good. The next morning I am expecting to be away all day. The hotel has a curfew and their doors close for good at around 23:00. My new room wasn't ready yet so I couldn't move to it. I asked the same lady if she could be so kind to move my stuff on my behalf, from the room in the basement to the new room in the top floor (once it was ready). She looked at me BAFFLED and got all defensive - clearly acting like thinking "I'm not paid enough for this crap". Well excuse me lady, I have a busy schedule and you guys are the ones who messed up, the least you can do is move my stuff, it's not even much just a backpack and a small-sized cabin suitcase. In the end I had to come back in the middle of the day to move it myself and interrupt my event. Thankfully the room was ready and I got my new keys. Everyone makes mistakes, but it takes *good hospitality* to rectify them properly. The rooms were also a bit dirty, I had to kill a centipede-like bug inside the bathroom of the one in the basement.

No air conditioning. No elevator and our room was 64 steps up with 3 pieces of luggage was not ideal. WiFi worked for about 3 minutes and then went off. Staff was friendly and location was in great proximity to lots of restaurants, pubs and the Earls Court station. Overall it was nothing special.

Great place to stay. Staff were lovely. Enjoyed our stay. Close walking to most things. Found it cheaper then other places in the street and we got a bigger room with nicer facilities. Definitely recommend staying here if going on tours as pick up for some tours is right outside.

Don’t stay here if you have a choice!
It’s ran down with fraying carpets and has a smelly stairwell (1st floor) in level with toilets. The room needs updating, cracked bathroom floor tiles, fraying carpets in the room. The coffee cup was dirty- went to a chippy to get a disposable cup! The mattress needs changing! Very uncomfortable. I woke up to no hot water. I called reception and was informed it would return in the afternoon. No alteratives given and plus I had to check out at noon. I complained to the website I booked through and they contacted the manager who lied that I was given options! Yet the girl at reception sounded like a broken record saying ‘ I’m sorry there is nothing we can do. The boiler has a problem’ I also wrote to the hotel via email - surprisingly no reply. I was refunded only half! I was greatly inconvenienced and I feel disappointed about the managers response when they were contacted via the website I booked with.

I had a single (room number 8), which has just a twin bed and one chair. There was a built-in storage with a vanity. The en-suite was very small, but OK. Cons: the carpet was disgusting. I don't know if it was just old and possibly clean, or old and dirty. It had marks all over it, and it just looked horrendous. The heater kept it cool during the day (which wasn't too bad, as I was out most of the day); and way too warm toward the middle of the night. Except the last night I was there, when I was counting on it to be very warm for an early rise to get to the airport. It stayed pretty cool all night that night. The shower was dangerous. It's very small, and the temperature control was very sensitive. I bumped it with my elbow several times, causing the water to suddenly become too hot. The reception staff was not friendly. Mr. Fawlty school of hotel management. They offered a continental breakfast for 6 pounds I think, but I went to the Prince of Teck for a full vegetarian breakfast with a pot of tea all for 8 pounds. PROS: this hotel is on my preferred street in my preferred neighborhood. My room was very quiet. The TV worked most of the time. There is a landline, but I didn't try it out. The tea tray had coffee and tea, and the first night there also had hot chocolate and a biscuit. Housekeeping changed everything out everyday, which I thought was not necessary. The wifi was strong. Bottom line: I will choose a different hotel next time.

Needs some serious updating.
Photos on the website paint a very false picture. Room smells really bad. Headboard is quite disgusting. Mould on the bathroom ceiling. Carpets have been down a very very long time.

Ok for a short stay but some TLC needed. Our room had very grubby carpet and curtains hanging off the rails. Old furniture, staff were fine and friendly but probably not a place for long stays?

Nice hotel in a good location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but the bed and pillows were a little uncomfortable. Good place to stay for a couple of nights.
