Location Description
Casa dell’Acqua is situated in the scenic, hilly hamlet of San Giusto di Brancoli, just north of Lucca. The villa sits in an elevated, south-facing position, naturally sheltered from the colder northern mountain winds by the peaks of the Apuan Alps. This unique microclimate keeps the area pleasant year-round and makes it ideal for the local production of exceptional olive oil and wine. The surrounding landscape is classic, authentic Tuscany—peaceful and uncrowded, filled with olive groves, vineyards, hidden walking paths, and nine other historic hamlets nearby to explore.
While you enjoy complete rural peace and privacy, you are highly connected. A short drive down the hill connects you to main roads, local towns, and the historic walled city of Lucca.

Perfect quiet and relaxing villa. Fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The children enjoyed the pool.
The region is beautiful between toscan valleys and mountains.
Very good supermarket close by.
Overall a great stay here. The location is great with a wonderful view. Not far from Lucca, which was a great city to visit.
Good communication with the owner and a house with all the necessary amenities.
Amazing place. Beaufiful location on the hill above Lukka. Great contact with the owner. Very authentic place. House was very comfortable for 9 people. The only small minus was the fact that you have to use the car all the time and the road is bit difficult. But the view is a great reward.
This is a very loved property. The grounds are beautiful, the house is charming, the pool is refreshing and the views are breathtaking. The owner met us on arrival and at departure and was very kind and did everything to assure we would have a wonderful stay. This was the perfect place for our stay in Lucca and would definitely stay here again! Loved it!
We loved our stay. It was just how we dreamed of staying in a Tuscan villa. The villa was absolutely beautiful and the views were breathtaking. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive if we had any questions. We were able to drive to Lucca, Florence, Pisa, the train to go to Cinque Terra and explore the local area, The location was fantastic. The countryside is just so beautiful. We would highly recommend the villa as a memorable place to enjoy Tuscany. Thank you again to our hosts for offering your beautiful villa.
A clean, comfortable villa with a fantastic view. Enzo, Host, was very helpful in getting our group settled. He even went way out of his way to pick up part of the party from the station in Pisa. We used the very functional kitchen, the beds were comfortable and enjoyed the quaintness of the Villa. Only challenge was the road up the mountain - took some careful getting used to!!
It was so wonderful to be up in the hills of Tuscany and enjoying the outdoors. The house was so charming and historic We were able to walk up to an excellent restaurant in another historic building. As well, it was so close to Lucca and the train station. My husband has been all over the world and he said it was his best trip he’s ever taken! Thank you for the experience! Sue Mahoney
We loved our villa stay. Beautiful views, lovely pool. We would only wish for air conditioning. They provided fans but it was very hot in the late afternoons and nights.
The 4km drive up the mountain was daunting every time, as it is a one lane riad with 2way traffic and lots of blind curves. Be warned!
The owners were very helpful and readily available to answer questions, etc. Enzo even took me grocery shopping and gave me helpful hints.
We had a fabulous dinner at the restaurant a5 min. walk up the road. Don’t miss Erasmus Restaurant nearby but you must make reservations!
Thanks to all who made our stay magical!
We were a group of 5 sisters who experienced a delightful week staying in Casa Dell’Acqua, a charming home in Lucca, Italy. The home was very comfortable. It exuded all the charm one might imagine when thinking about Tuscany. At night we could see the lights of the city below, a truly beautiful sight. During the day the scent of lavender, mint, herbs and a variety of different plantings filled the air. The drive up the hill was not as scary as we thought it might be. Once we got use to it and followed some of the other drivers’ methods of alerting their presence…beeping the horn prior to rounding the curve, we became very confident with the road. Mr. Enzo was very helpful acquainting us with the property. The walled city of Lucca was easy to get to as well as the markets and other Tuscan sights! We are home now with our photos and memories to remind us that this glorious vacation did in fact happen!
We loved this place. It was very spacious with a large garden and a beautiful overlook. Very private too.
The friendly owner, Enzo welcomed us, and shows us around.
Awesome stay at Casa Dell Aqua : big space, beautiful view, nicely equipped kitchen and near a lot of nice cities. The last 10min of road are very narrow to get up the mountain but it's definitely worth the trip ! Very private, the hosts came for a few checks of the pool and gardening but we never even noticed them.Would totally recommend !
We have never been to Italy. This was our first time. It felt like coming home. What a lovely home we had. The love and care to the peroerty was beautiful to see. Waking up paradise was amazing. The owners were so kind and we felt welcome! We will defnitely be back!
This property has everything you need for a comfortsble stay. Its beautifully placed and a great jumping off spot for exploring Tuscany. The hosts were just lovely and couldn't do enough to help us. I highly recommend it and we will go back. Our delight was sitting on the terraces at night and watching the fire flies. Lots of wildlife to enjoy in and around the gardens and olive grove.
Over and above all this property was amazing! The host(s) and their family went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and informed. Although some if the photos for the listing were older (ie new exterior doors and windows) it was very much as described. The pool (which wasn’t due to open until the last days of our trip) was being replaced. I’m certain it will be amazing! The cleanliness of the house was very good, although we did notice a few cobwebs in a corner or two, and they could have done with some newer cooking utensils. The stove, which we had read in a previous review was malfunctioning, did not cause us any trouble. I would definitely recommend staying here again and I hope i get the opportunity to do so someday.

Very Special Villa
The villa was precious and the view was amazing. However, getting there was quite scary! And the amenities were scarce. But the owners were delightful and gave us a bottle of wine and delicious cookies! I don't think I'd stay there again because of the scary drive.
We were a party of 8 and we all enjoyed our holiday. The property is lovely. The pool is small but great for cooling down. The oven is quite old but was ok. We didnt use it that much. The house was great. The area is beautiful. It look us a while to find as we missed the turning for the property on the narrow windy roads but soon got used to these. 1st time hiring a car abroad for my daughter and she coped with them. Lucca was lovely and not too far away. I would definitely recommend. The only negative was the holiday went too quickly.
