"Theoretically, this was a nice room in the second floor overlooking the back of the property. It was very quiet and spacious. The bathroom was clean and kitchen facilities were simple but acceptable (no microwave as shown on some photos). However, while booking the room it was not clear that you have to order dishes, cooking pots and cutlery in order to use the kitchen, which was 26 Euros extra. The room lacked some very basic amenities, such as any hangers for towels in the bathroom or outside. The only hanging facility was the toilet roll holder. The location was excellent, in close proximity to an underground station (150 m) and a shopping mall (200 m) with supermarkets, restaurants and a large variety of shops."

"Hotel Ludwig was a great hotel. Checking in was a breeze, very friendly and informative. Parking was free, a bit limited but was not a problem at all! Very clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom was spacious and shower was great as well! It is located near the ubahn, the S-bahn and bus stops. We will not hesitate to stay here again when in Munich. It may have been the owner who checked us in and waved us goodbye when we left. Very nice touch. We really appreciated that! Wish we could have stayed longer... maybe next time!"

"I went back and forth between giving this hotel 4 or 5 stars, and settled on 4 not because there was anything wrong, but because it just wasn’t perfect. I’ll get the less than good (there’s nothing bad about this hotel) out of the way first. It’s a bit of a walk from the closest train station which matters when your feet are tired from a long day of walking. It’s also a few miles from the city center and the train to the central station costs around 5 US dollars each way which can add up. The room was small and there’s no air conditioning or ice machine. The hotel does not hide this and it is typical of many European hotels. Just something to be aware of. The other issue is that there’s no restaurant nearby so make sure you eat before turning in. There is a supermarket close by though and that leads into the good. The room had a small microwave and a refrigerator which was very handy. The bed was very comfortable and the room fan did a decent job of keeping me cool enough while I slept (but I wouldn’t rely on it during the heat of summer). The shower was one of the best I’ve ever had in any hotel at any price. There’s no phone either, but with nearly everyone having a cell phone and the hotel offering free WiFi, it’s not much of an issue. If you’re on a budget that keeps you out of the heart of Munich and don’t mind a bit of a walk, then the Flag Meiller Garden could be for you."

"Good location and spacious room. The "room" was actually 3 interconnecting rooms which gave us: 1) Bedroom and bathroom 1 2) The sitting room and kitchen 3) Bedroom and bathroom 2 This layout was good and meant we could open everything up or close the bedrooms for privacy at night. There was an issue with the air conditioning in one of the rooms, which unfortunately could not be fixed during our stay. The staff were very apologetic and gave us breakfast as compensation on 2 of our 3 nights, which I felt was an appropriate and appreciate gesture. Staff all spoke excellent English and although we arrived late on the first night we were greeted with a warm welcome and everything explained clearly. Some reviews have commented that parking was difficult, we did not find this to be the case at all, we stopped at the reception (leaving the car directly outside the hotel entrance) and were given room keys and instructions on how to enter the parking. You have to drive round the block to enter the parking area which is under the local shopping centre, the hotel parking is a private, barriered area of the underground car park. Once you have driven round and down, you have direct, secure (via your room key) access to the reception and rooms via a lift. Breakfast was good and we would stay here again."
