Cleanliness is one of the most important aspects for us, so we will investigate why the accommodation was not fully prepared that day. However, had we been aware of the situation on the day, we would have dealt with it immediately.

The accommodation is a pension!
The pictures don’t reflect what the accommodation is. The building has a sign stating that they are rated as CH, meaning a pension in the hospitality industry. The room was small and no cleaning was provided, except for towels when requested. This is not a 3-star accommodation, as I previously mentioned, the building is a pension.

Before your arrival, we remind you of this information in a message sent by WhatsApp and indicating that if you need any item you can request it by WhatsApp or by calling. Unfortunately, clients do not always contact us before their arrival and some agencies do not provide us with some client information such as their telephone number or email, so communication with some clients may suffer failures due to this.Thank you for your comment.

We didn't have wifi so we couldn't get in until people was staying there open the door for us and help us how to use the key.

It is possible that you will not receive all the information about your reservation such as the WIFI password. We usually send a WhatsApp message with WIFI. Abracadabra.
Good friendly communications after booking, was a bit apprehensive after booking realising you had to download an app which would be the access keys to the building and apartment. In the event, this was smoother than I thought. The room itself was spacious, just what I had ordered with a double bed, table chairs sofa bed, good amount of plugs, television (couldn’t find BBC World or whatever the equivalent is these days) so didn’t use. Bathroom clean, tidy, reasonable size. Nice wardrobe with sufficient bedding and towels if there were more guests. Only thing what was missing was a kettle which could have been handy. Supermarket Dia nearby. The Sol Metro and Renfe was about 1 mile away or 1.6km. Thank you to the hosts.

The modern technology of using bluetooth might be convenient for remote management but is a disaster if ones phone battery dies. We had to let in other tenants more than once. Management staff were very friendly and the cleani g ladies were excellent

Loved our short stay. Room was just what we needed but very comfortable and clean. Easy walk to endless restaurants, sights. A little tricky figuring out the second door entry but once we figured it out, all good!

They was a really simple room, it not a suit or hotel, is hosting room, with a common bathrooms. The room only have bed, tv, closet, and towels. We are really disappointed.. the place is described as a Suit and it not.

I did not even stay at the property as there was a problem with my room. They offered me a different location but I declined and made other arrangements. The property said that i would receive a full refund. Expedia is trying to assist me in getting my refund but the property is not answering any calls or emails. I am out all of my money!!!

Not great, but the price is right
It’s hard to call this a hotel as there is no staff and nobody can check you in. You must use your smartphone as a key and people do not answer the phone often when you call. The room itself was small but clean and functional and it was very comfortable, but I cannot justify calling this a 3-star hotel, because (A) it isn’t much of q hotel and (B) the lack of communication affected my stay.

Abracadabra was pleasant to stay at. The bathroom is nice. A bit of a walk from the main office since we had to check in late. The location is near Sol Plaza so very good. We were allowed to keep our luggage there after checkout. The building that we stayed at however didn't have an elevator so carrying our luggage up those flights of stairs was a struggle.

El asunto es que, cuando reservas te confirman diciendo que vas a pagar en el establecimiento, cuando llegas te dicen que tenias que pagar mediante un Link, (El cual a mi nunca me llego) y que por no pagar, cancelaron mi reserva. Ya que munca me llego un correo de cancelacion llegue en metro con mis maletas y a la direccion de la cual ellos dicen que se hace el check in (en calle bordadores, cerca de sol) luego me dicen que no, que si es en la direccion del hotel y todo esto solo para que al llegar me dijeran que mi reserva se cancelo!! 😡 menos mal habia espacio en el Hostal Rico, esta mas chingon raza y a 2 cuadras de la gran via!! :D

AVOID (Unless you like sitting around for hours
The checkin process was a nightmare. Took us upwards of 3 hours to get into our room. They said we had to stop by the key collection for what I assumed would be the key. Unfortunately all they did was tell us they would send and email with instructions on how to get access. We get to the location and there are essentially 3 doors we have to get through using this technology on our phone that will unlock the door. The technology doesn't work. Not only that but the second door is confusing because there is a huge sign that says Abracadabra Suites but that isnt the door you need to unlock. AND they never told us what our room number was once we actually get into the suites. We finally called and had to demand someone come down to help us because she didnt want to leave the office unattended. When she arrived she told us our room was #7 and was unable to get the technology to unlock the door. She couldnt get ahold of the owner and had to run back to the office. While sitting there with our luggage as there was no place to leave it and we couldnt get into our room, we tried the code over and over again and finally we hear room #8 unlock. All and all it took over 3 hours that we could have been out sightseeing just to get into our room. As we were leaving another guest arrived with the same issue! She was standing near the wrong door marked Abracadra Suites so we showed her the correct door but the technology wouldnt work for her and they never gave her the room number!

It was the worst experience.. Amongst everything that I experienced, here is what stood out the most (not in a good way).. 1. No Cutlery 2. Stained Bedsheets 3. Clogged shower drain 4. No Drinking Water 5. Matchbox sized room Saddened to end my trip in Spain here!

Great if you want a bed with a good location
Room was comfortable and location is good but didn't like the fact cleaning only takes place every 4 days unless you pay (not much use on a 3 night stay). Shared toilet/shower room was generally clean and acceptable but go for a room with private facilities if possible. Great if all you want is a bed and decent location. Awful if you want a hotel and the service/amenities that coms with.

No Frills Hotel for Travelers on a Budget
This hotel has a great central location to explore around Madrid, with easy walking access to Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, and most of the Centro area, along with a short walk to the La Latina Metro stop. The hotel is nothing fancy but is a comfortable place to rest up after a day of sightseeing or other activities. It was a bit difficult to find since there is no large sign for the hotel, and also there is no elevator to access the rooms. However, I think it is entirely on the second floor of the building, so there are not many stairs to climb for access. The staff is also friendly and can handle check-in in English should your Spanish not be up to par.

The room was ok but the details weren’t clear on booking. Room cleaning was only every 4 days and for most rooms, you had to use a shared bathroom which wasn’t cleaned everyday. Some of the other guests made a gross mess in one of the bathrooms which stayed that way for a couple days. There’s a no smoking policy but it’s not reinforced. We came back every night to a strong cigarette smell in the hallway. The walls are very thin, meaning we could hear everything, including returning guests at 4am and ‘other’ noises which woke us up. There’s also an unnecessary ‘emergency exit’ green light above the door that can’t be turned off. It was difficult to get good sleep with it on. We will not be returning.

Joselyn who welcomed us emailed me prior to arrival, since we arrived early she checked our luggage. When we returned still early, she allowed us in the room to nap knowing how tired we were from overnight train ( no sleep). She was kind , talkative & helpful. The room was fabulous w/ comfortable beds, I was a little Leary about sharing bathrooms but there were 3 on the floor, clean, immaculate & never saw other residents during the stay. The location of Abracadabra is great.. easy to navigate, by castle & stop for Double Decker. Would definitely book here again!!! Myself , husband & 22 year dtr fit comfortably!!

We arrived in the evening and the procedure for checking in was difficult specially after 12 hours of travel. the room with the bathroom is tiny. One floor up without an elevator and renovations going on were not welcome for elderly travelers. The location was great - the staff, when there, were very friendly. Good price but maybe for a younger crowd

Room did not live up to the images on-line, although did include town heater, ironing board & iron, heater, air con, etc. The state of the entry, being prepared for renovation, was disappointing. We did not find the lighting for stairway until the third day, as it was too dark to see, and no apology for conditions was given. The room price did not match the room quality.

Enjoyable stay in a great location Hostel
The hostel was a great location, on the road of the royal palace. The room was clean on the first day but was not cleaned in the five days we were there which is their policy. Would have been nice for the bin to be emptied in that time of our stay. The shared bathrooms however were spotless. Enjoyable stay and would stay again.

Great location, nice room, poor exterior
Almost walked away because the exterior of the building and interior stairwell were not attractive. Hotel takes up one floor of a building and the common areas are poorly maintained. Once inside, the rooms are very adequate and the location of the hotel is excellent - close to the Royal Palace, Cathedral, and much more all within a short walk. This is really a hostel with a couple of rooms with private baths. Our room with bath was spacious, clean, and good value for the money, but you have to ignore the building areas that are not under the control of Abracadabra Suites.

You can only see the sign of the hostel at the door bell, we passed by as we didn't think we were at the right address. If you arrive late,, as our friends did you have to walk long way to their other office to get a key

Enjoyable affordable backpackers stay in Madrid
Enjoyed our stay. Room was quiet and comfortable albiet small. Hostel was hard to locate, and the building was not clean, but the hostel inside was lovely.

cheap hotel with excellent location

Charming Gem
I'll be totally honest - I read the reviews for this hotel and was hesitant to stay here but went ahead anyway and was glad I did. I stayed here with my fiance and 2 of our friends and the layout was great for all 4 of us. It was a beautiful and large bed on one side and a comfy couch pull out on the other. The A/C was great considering not many places in Spain have it. The receptionist was nice, little English but we communicated with Spanglish easily. It is also a hostile, but we had a private bathroom too which was convenient because we could use both really. No room service or cleaning, but it was fine because there were towel warmers and such. The entrance was pretty terrible, but I expected that in reading the reviews - kinda spooky and reminded me of American Horror Story but it was central to everything, had a beautiful view off the street and was truly Spanish. I would highly recommend it taking into account the price and would definitely stay again. Is not the Ritz or anything fancy, but good enough to go back and have a clean place to stay and comfy bed to sleep in with a great location.

We arrived at the alternative check, a back room which deals with check ins for various hotels, in at around 11pm, gentleman was very nice, gave me the 'rules' and keys and sent us on our way. We walked down towards the 'hotel', which is near the Royal Palace, however, as we kept walking it felt like it was moving towards a 'rougher' end of the road. The hotel sign was a bit of paper stuck to the wall, we let ourselves in the main door into a rather rough, dark and dirty hallway and staircase (which my partner said he almost put his foot through. Anyway, got to the main door, opened and it looked ok, clean and tidy but still not 'hotel'. We had booked a double room with a private bathroom. The lock on the door (in fact all doors) was just a bar across it so I didn't feel particularly safe, the room was tiny (judging by the photos looks like it was the smallest in the hotel) with an A/C box but no controls a small desk and wardrobe and what seemed to be an unfinished bathroom. Not what we were expecting at all so we left for another hotel. It was a cheap rate so we weren't expecting a lot just a nice B&B but this was not it, I thought maybe it was worse because it was late at night but my partner went back in the morning to hand the keys back and said 'no it was awful!' If you are looking for a cheap break in Madrid then I am sure there are better places, if you are traveller and are used to hostels then maybe you would be happy here.

Dear customer, we feel what counts, first, we feel if our traffic signs is not enough for you, we will work to improve that as far as possible, the entry know that is a big mistake, and we are working to improve it in a future next, when you stay with us, it was cold season, so even we did not have the air conditioning controls, but had two large balconies in the room that could open to solve the heat, the bathroom was completely finished and the lock the door is safe enough if you close the door every time you leave the room, greetings

Hostel not Hotel
We accidentally booked this place thinking it was a hotel because that's what the hotel.com page said. However, this place was a hostel and we booked a private room in a hostel. The location was subpar and the place was very loud late at night with the normal young hostel-staying type of people. The staff was very friendly but didn't speak English very well. The one good feature of this place was that the bed was very comfortable.

Dear guest, Dear customer, thanks for your comment. We do not know how the page hotel.com says we are a hotel when our profile expedia.com says that we are a hotal. Other than that, we're glad to know that our establishment served its purpose. greetings
