"Nice and clean - a good stay. The hosts were really great when I arrived quite late at night due to a missed train, and were really helpful in making sure I could get right into my room easily. I really appreciated their helpfulness and easy communication.
There are a number of pets about the house including dogs, who make a bit of noise in the evening and early morning, but not too bad.
I would be quite happy to stay here again."
"The Old Ship Inn is the perfect place to stay during our trip to Dorchester and surrounding area. It’s a gorgeous Inn tucked into a very special old pub. Our room was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. We will be coming back here for sure. "
"We booked to stay here 2 nights in June. The day we were to arrive we got a message from the hotel to say that they were undergoing renovations and they would refund us for our breakfast charges and give us a free to-go breakfast one day. Annoying as we have a very picky eater and the buffet is a main reason we booked Premier Inn. When we arrived it took the counter staff ages to check us in as apparently there was something confusing about the booking in the system. She was very nice though. So...

"Excellant communication prior to stay.
Comfortable room with ensuite, tea, coffee and water supplies.
Additional use of fan over night was good.
Good breakfast."
"Fantastic stay lovely hostess really went the extra mile to make our short break very special.
Excellent breakfast and the surrondings were all in keeping.
The room was very comfortable and quiet.
Central location in Dorchester with all its history & museums and some really nice restaurants in easy walking distance
Also a good base if you're exploring the surrounding area. You have Corfe Castle & Swanage within an hours drive."
"A lovely one night stay. The pub is in a quiet village location, close to lots of interesting places in beautiful Dorset countryside. Our room was large, with an equally large bathroom. We ate in the pub in the evening. The menu choice was good, prices reasonable and the food was excellent. We had our breakfast served outside in the garden and, again, this was tasty, hot and really enjoyable. Thoroughly recommended."
"Good sized en suite room in private flat. Powerful shower, good wifi. Convenient for Dorchester centre, no parking but public (paid) car park just across the road. There is a cat. Comfortable bed and very quiet location even though close to centre"
"The Old Chapel is a thoughtfully and attractive converted building. It is well equipped, and we enjoyed the social space in the kitchen/diner. The road in front of the downstairs bedrooms was busier than expected during rush hours, and the village amenities were more spread out than we anticipated. We enjoyed the Island Garden Center and coffee shop across the road for a breakfast and lunch. The off-street parking was awkward for an SUV type vehicle but would be alright for a smaller car. It is well situated to visit many interesting locations around south Dorset. "
"We went for a short break, to meet up with other family members. The cottage was very clean, beautiful kitchen, bathroom, the owner had thought of everything, and gave us a lovely hamper. Nice friendly pub, 2 mins away. Bus stop, 2 mins away. Location good too!"
