"Hotel lovely in great surroundings. Room clean but bathroom needed refreshing.(the door). we had dinner in the bar although a little pricey food was excellent and plenty of it. The only down side was the state of the drive with quite a few pot holes could be a problem if unsteady on your feet and not good on the car tyres."

"We had an amazing 1 night stay. We had parked up the road just off high street (24 hour car park) as parking limited (permit only outside) at the pub but was easy to find car park and walk down to the pub was a couple of minutes. When we arrived in the pub we were welcomed by Babs and Summer. Summer showed us to our room, you have to go through a staff only area and as it is a pub the ceilings were low but we liked that as it makes the stay different. We were told all about the late night procedure once the pub is closed how you get in and out and given emergency numbers if needed. The stairs up were steep but that comes with staying in an old pub. Our room was lovely (room 3) had air con, nice comfortable bed and small but adequate bathroom with small bottles of shampoo, shower gel etc which is a nice touch. Water provided and tea and coffee biscuits in room. We went for a stroll in Maldon and when we returned Ebony was at the bar, she was very friendly and welcoming. We sat outside overlooking the water. This pub is in a lovely setting. We had a great nights sleep and breakfast was amazing with a great choice, served again by Babs and Summer. Overall our stay was excellent and I couldn’t fault all the staff they were great and very friendly. We will be back to stay again."

"Lovely hotel. We stayed in studio it was spotlessly clean. Only slight thing was to change air conditioning settings you had to stand on arm of sofa, maintenence man came over and helped us though. Very comfy nice and quiet. Great blackout blinds and comfy bed made for a nice lay in. Pub was really quaint nice old features. Breakfast was so good, staff so friendly and helpful. Great location in High Street. Would come back."
