Perfect location.
Does what it says on the tin. Decent room (although no hanging space, not a problem for an overnight stay), clean, functional, decent size. Breakfast perfectly OK. Reasonable price. Perfect location. Literally across the road from Manchester Piccadilly.

Fantastic Hotel
A hidden gem in the heart of Manchester. Bang opposite Piccadilly station, it’s easily accessible with affordable parking all around. The price of the room was amazing for what we got, we felt really looked after and the service was incredible. Will definitely be coming back again - the breakfast box in the morning was a wonderful touch!

Friendly welcome and clean room.However under maintenance outside and damp area in room on walls.No hot water for shower or wash -boiled kettle to wash hair. Nice toiletries. Self service breakfast which was adequate and fresh fruit.Swipe card and exit buttons to access back stairs.Very noisy at 4 am when clubs exited.

Great location & value
Great location next to the train station and a few blocks from the town center mall. You can not check-in before 2:30, but can leave your luggage. Rooms are a good size and bathrooms very contemporary. Both window blinds in my room were broken as was the sink drain; so maintenance is an issue. Breakfast is simple but adequate.

The welcome and service from the bar was great, however the cleanliness of the room was lacking. The grout in the shower showed signs of mould, the sink plug was broken and there was a huge patch of damp mould around the door and window. Breakfast also left a lot to be desired

Great location, great room, stereotyping manager.
Very surprising rooms and great location. Curious landlady for the bar who seemed a little put out by having a "Cockney" staying. Got a bit off about me explaining I wasn't born within the sound of Bow bells. Then made a sweeping statement about me enjoying spending money. Not offensive just judgemental and a bit gruff. Would still recommend though.

A good find although a bit noisy
It was a great hotel and a great location- next to the station, however becuase of the location it was very noisy- trains, sirens, traffic (with the windows shut) and the room shook a bit from the trains, so it was not that restful.

A hotel, in my view, should serve evening food, and at minimum have a proper area for breakfast - not a cupboard in the corner and take it back to your room to eat on your own! How this is called a hotel is beyond me.

Only one little glitch
Everything was great, bed firm, towels thick and decent sized, water pressure in shower excellent, relatively quiet area at night, hairdryer in drawer, breakfast adequate - only negative was the little green light in one of the overhead light that shined brightly all night - that was most annoying - I finally figured out a way to cover it a bit so I could sleep - why have room darkening curtains with that light always on- but that’s only negative.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean and tidy with daily housekeeping however breakfast was a bit of a joke. On arrival the woman who checked us in told us not to use the toaster at breakfast as it was broken! It was a simple 4 slice toaster which could’ve been replaced easy enough but the do not use sign stayed on it for the duration of our stay! Which left a choice of cereal, a fruit bowl, individual cartons of orange juice and a small pile of chocolate croissants, a bit disappointing considering the £100 per night cost. Just replace the toaster!

Everything was ideal, the location and the facilities were exactly what we wanted. Breakfast is a unique set up, customers collect what they need from a selection that has something for everyone. They then return to their room to eat it. This suited us just fine. There is a coffee machine, that did not work during my visit, though a kettle with coffee sachets is in hotel rooms. It was great having a new towel and the room tidied every day, the staff that I met were excellent. I would return there without hesitation. The proximity to Manchester Piccadilly is perfect, as within five minutes of getting off a train, we were in our room.

Not exactly what we had in mind when we thought of the convenience of staying over a pub. Stayed for a brief layover and assumed there was dinner at the pub (wrong - only lunch served). Very busy street so earplugs needed. They were very sweet and trying to make it comfortable but this is really an example of "you get what you pay for". Great for one night to be close to the train station but wouldn't book this for anything longer. No one to talk to when checking out, very sketchy back stairwell to exit out of.

The pub is in a great location right next to Piccadilly train station and close to bars and clubs in the Northern Quarter and also the gay village. The room was clean and tidy and looked like it had been renovated fairly recently. Breakfast was good - cereal, bread/toast/crumpets and fruit. Unfortunately there is some roadworks right outside so I was awoken earlier than I would have liked with a digging noise - clearly not the pub's fault but unfortunate!

Almost Perfect
The Bull's Head has an excellent location just across the street from Piccadilly Station that can't be beat. Check in was friendly and efficient over in a corner of the pub. The rooms are on the top floor, so be prepared for 2 long flights of stairs. The room was small and cozy with two twin beds...the one by the window could use a new mattress, but I slept comfortably enough. The in-room coffee service is simple but delicious and the breakfast set up in the hallway was just what we wanted that day--lots of fresh fruit, a selection of cold cereals, crumpets, and yogurts. The towels are huge and just enough fluffy and the water pressure was delightful. The bath could use some hooks and a shelf in the shower but these shortcomings were more than compensated for. If I ever get back to Manchester, I will again stay at The Bull's Head.

Good stopover for connection to Manchester Piccadilly station. Station literally across the road. On leaving felt we were doing a moonlight flit as no staff around at 8:30. Served breakfast on landing area but everything was there to help ourselves and in abundance.

Comfy beds and very close to train station.
The hotel is very close to the train station. I like the bed of my room, they are very comfy! The room and bathroom are clean and spacious. Unfortunately the wifi is not very good and there are no elevators on premise.

The hotel is convenient to Manchester Piccadilly station and close to the Manchester Apollo where we saw a concert. The room appeared modern and very clean and the secondary double glazing helped reduce the noise. The sad thing was that the chef had reported in sick so we went to the station for food.

A lovely boutique style pub hotel in town centre.
Very different from a traditional budget hotel stay, in that you are a guest in a traditional Victorian public house. Breakfast was available 24/7 as it was placed in the reception area to the five rooms on the top floor of the hotel part of the pub. Served as a continental style breakfast with toast, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, cereals and above all Warburton Crumpets! To anyone not familiar with this traditional northern delicacy, Crumpets need to be toasted until a crispy brown and then coated with 'oodles' of butter! Absolutely delicious and a highlight to our short stay. We would certainly repeat the experience again should we need to go to Manchester.

Great location opposite Piccadilly station
Friendly staff and room clean and comfortable. Breakfast is self serve and taken back to your room. Good selection of cereals, juice, yoghurt, pastries and toast. Fresh fruit is also available. Stairs make taking heavy luggage to the rooms, two flights.

Don't be put-off by the exterior
The pub itself looks rough, however it was quite nice inside and full of rather civil people. Quiet enough so that the noise could not be heard from the room. The room was compact but well equipped for our needs and I loved the free breakfast and free water and beer! Would stay again.
