About this property

Little Acres - sleeps 12 guests in 5 bedrooms

  • Perched in an elevated location in a hamlet just outside the pretty beach-side village of Marazion, you will find Little Acres. The property overlooks its own large and rambling garden, with uninterrupted views that take in the whole of Mount's Bay and beyond. From the moment you arrive you'll be looking towards the Mount and the Atlantic horizon, enjoying the changing light and colour of sea and sky. The main living areas of the property are reverse level, making the most of the view — and you have several living areas which give you both shared and private spaces. Little Acres is welcoming, relaxed and well equipped.

    Inside Little Acres

You will approach Little Acres down a short private drive, with ample parking, and step into the upper level. Here you will find all of the living accommodation as well as the master en-suite bedroom, all with balconies facing south-west to the sea. On the ground floor are all of the other bathrooms and bedrooms, facing in the same direction, but overlooking the garden. The property is furnished comfortably in blues, greys and neutrals with original prints and paintings of the local area, and has multiple patios and French doors, giving it a relaxed, light and fresh holiday vibe.

There are two main rooms for entertainment and relaxation. The large living room is a real showstopper with one fully glazed aspect, with its own full-length balcony, giving you uninterrupted sea views. You'll find it hard to tear yourself away, whether it's basking in the summer sun on the balcony or watching the storms roll in during the winter. These views are unbeatable whatever the weather, whatever the time of year! Here you have two sofas and additional seating for making conversation and memories. The second living room is geared to entertainment with a 50 inch smart TV and two more sofas, as well as a library and office area — and more great views of course. At the heart of the house and connecting the two living areas is the kitchen and dining room — making the spaces flow in a very sociable way. On this floor you'll also find the master bedroom complete with superking-sized bed, en suite (with bath), built-in wardrobe, dressing table, and your own private balcony,

Downstairs you will find; bedroom two with a king-sized bed and a lovely garden view, bedroom three which can be used as either a single or twin, bedroom four which is a huge child-friendly room with two bunk-beds and a ping-pong table, and bedroom five which also has a king-sized bed with en suite shower room and access to the garden through its own patio door. Please note that this last bedroom is accessed through bedroom four.

    Outside the property

Little Acres benefits from a large and sunny garden. It has paved areas and generous lawns sloping away towards the coast, with some small mature trees and tucked away corners — great for games, adventures, or quiet moments. The garden is planted with agapanthus and hydrangea, and the farmer's field beyond is a popular haunt for fauna including buzzards, kestrels, rabbits, and sometimes foxes. At your disposal is an al fresco dining area with enough seating for the whole family, a charcoal barbeque, outdoor Portuguese oven, hammock and garden lounge chairs.

Marazion village is just 500 metres away down a country lane — so you have privacy but also great amenities - it really is the best of both worlds! The iconic beach here is over a mile long (and considerably longer if you include Longrock beach). Marazion beach is mostly made up of lovely clean sand with a few pebbly patches. There are some areas of interesting rock-pools towards the village end as well as some small sand dunes, a ‘green' and a public play area. Marazion is the heart of Mount's Bay and the village is blessed with excellent pubs, restaurants, cafés, galleries and small independent shops. It's also your access point to the famous St Michael's Mount and a range of sports activities (including kite-surfing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, sea kayaking, snorkelling and spear-fishing). Along the coast eastwards you can explore the picturesque coves of Perranuthnoe, Prussia Cove and Rinsey, the surf beach of Praa Sands and the foodie haven of Porthleven. Heading west, you will find the historic town of Penzance, the fishing port of Newlyn, legendary Mousehole, Lamorna, Porthcurno and Land's End.

    What we love

Staying at Little Acres will make you feel completely immersed in Cornish life. Whether it's watching the fishing boats return to Newlyn and Mousehole while sipping on your morning coffee, or trying your hand at stand-up paddle boarding in the bay, Marazion will have you feeling completely at home away from home.

We love wandering down the hill to Philps tiny pasty shop (a must do for anyone visiting here with locally made tea towels, fudge and biscuits as well as the award-winning pasties). You have to go to the Mount of course. We recommend walking out over the cobbled causeway just as the tide uncovers it — it's the closest you can get to walking on water, and then back ‘home' for a barbeque and watching the sun slowly set in the west with the sea changing to fiery orange reflecting the light — then settling down to an evening of board games. We love that everyone in the party can find their ‘corner' of Little Acres, whether the private master bedroom's balcony, or the kids room to play ping-pong. There really is something for everyone.
