"We had to make a last minute change to this property from one we had in San Gimignano, and we are delighted that it worked out that way. The property is super relaxing and the staff made our stay memorable. The owner/on-site chef made a fabulous 3 course meal for dinner, plus dessert, and breakfast was simply perfect If you do not have a car and anticipate hiring a taxi, I advise that you set up the taxi in advance and the owners will be happy to provide a number for you. "Apart from them forgetting to pick us up on the FREE hotel bus shuttle back and forth from the hotel and Porta Nuova, (but they did come quickly when I called them) and the safe in the room did not work as it required a new battery......I have nothing but pretty much EXCELLENCE to say on this hotel. When I walked into my room, I thought I must be it's first guest as it was so pristine and beautifully prepared with everything seeming so new. Thank you, and I commend the hotel for this. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, and with a good choice. The staff I encountered were extremely polite and helpful. Car parking was free and protected. Some of the outside areas required attention, hence only my 'good' comment, it appeared a little chaotic and unkept in places, but this is a small point.....it must be difficult to maintain such a building with various stairways, corridors and levels appearing to lead all over the place? Children must find it quite an adventure! Thank you for a first class stay. RG."
