"This was basic accommodation with no frills. Ideal if you are just looking for something very basic to sleep and spending the evening in. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival. The kitchen had everything if you wanted to self cater for yourselves. The only person I spoke to during my stay was a stable hand. I never meet the owner. I would be happy to stay here in the future."

"Fantastic location and lovely cosy place to stay. The steps to the outside garden were very steep so we didn't use that much.The only minor issue were getting some provisions e.g milk, bread etc. We came by train so we were limited by the amount we could bring with us and there is only a small shop selling essential items open untill 6pm in the village. Having said that, there were plenty of places to eat out."

"The Snug was very comfortable and well equipped. It was also very clean. I could not work the shower but I did not contact the owner so I am sure it would have been sorted if I had. It was only three nights and there was a bath so I did not. It was well located, quite near to Matlock Bath. The bed was comfortable and it was well decorated throughout. "

"Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast. The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free...

"As soon as we arrived we were greated by a member of staff who booked us in and showed us to our room. The room is beautiful and has fridge bar and lots of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Everything is very clean and room is checked each day, making sure you have everything you need. also the room was quiet and relaxing and the bed is really comfortable. You can choose a time that suitsThe bathroom is lovely and spacious with shower wash etc. also the room was quiet and relaxing You can choose a time that suits you for breakfast before 11am. Breakfast was amazing. You can choose any coffee from the menu and then you are brought a tray with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and jugs of orange and apple juice. You can then choose anything from the hot food. Everything was very tasty and we were offered more hot drinks. All the servers were polite and friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely be back."
